A Curious Resemblance

If this has been posted/theorized before, then I'm late to the party; pardon me. 

I was opening my shiny new Tactics set this weekend, and skimmed through the character hex tiles and noticed an odd resemblance in one of the citizens of the sun. That character is Citizen Winter.

I'll upload a photo to illustrate what I mean.

I included the original known artwork for Citizen Winter to show how different she appears now. Since Adam has been improving leaps and bounds, we're able to see a familiar looking character. Kaargra Warfang.

Here's what we know about her.

  • "Some say that Kaargra was a gladiator in the arena until she single-handedly overthrew the original owners of the colosseum and took control for hersself." (taken from her villian bio)
  • She has orange and red clothes, like Dawn did.
  • The only physical changes are the scars on her cheeks and a different hair color. Could her powers have also been relinquished in exchange for the Bloodsworn Collosseum? The villian bio also reads:

Others say that Kaargra struck a deal with some unfathomable cosmic entity, trading the portion of her soul that knew of mercy and kindness in exchange for power and a realm of her own, which manifests in the form of the Bloodsworn Colosseum."

It may just be me, because it may just be a coincidence. But even if this is debunked, it still makes for a fun theory. Also, it keeps me entertained while I wait for my WotC package.

Interesting, other than Citizen Winter clearly appears again in Tactics which is after the current timeline.

 

However, its also clear that Timetravel is a very understandable possiblity. But im thinking cousin?

I guess we'll have more ideas after seeing her deck art/flavor text. The waiting game is hard.

Upon further inspection, her face structure is pretty different. Cousin is more likely.

Maybe Kaargra is actually Expatriette's father.

No, Guise is ExPatriette’s mother. Dawn is her father.

On that topic, though... I have to admit that I'm more intrigued by the vision of "powered-up" Expat than I am by seeing Ryan's face. Especially in light of the Footenotes.

That the Wager Master might be lying through its teeth to Expat by showing her not "what could be" (as he seems to be claiming in the art - can't recall the flavor text off-hand) but rather "what already is, even if she doesn't know it yet."
