( If this is an inappropriate question, I apologize )
Those of you who've playtested the new Vengeance-style villains for the Villains of the Multiverse expansion: what kind of difficulty do they provide? The Vengeful Five pretty uniformly provide a super hard difficulty, akin to people like Iron Legacy and the Chairman. I'm curious if 'Villains' maintains that level of difficulty for "team" games, or if it provides more options, so that not all villain team games are super hard.
I can't say the answer to that question, we don't even know the answer, and as Ronway said we aren't allowed to give that type of knowledge if we do.
That said the overall difficulty of the V format is going to be hard to change, because each round you get (H) card plays and (H) end of turn effects. So even if it gets easier than Vengeance 5 alone, it should still be a harder overall format than the stand alone villains.
I'm not a playtester and haven't seen anything other than Christopher's public posts about the new VotM characters, so I'm free to say whatever I'd like
To answer the OP question, I recall Christopher mentioning somewhere (on the blog? on Twitter? in person at PAx East?) that the new VotM villians would be a range of difficulties - from some easier ones, up to ones like the original V5 villains. Thus allowing the players to modify the overall difficulty of the group. IIRC, he implied that the orgininal V5 team would still be the toughest vengance-style fight.
So some of the VotM villains will likely be as tough as the original V5, but I do recall him saying that some of them would be easier.
