I know that there probably isn't a specific planning one way or another, and it's all due to story reasons and what not.....
But I wanted to say thanks for the fact that with the Freedom Six, you can get the majority of the unlocks in a single game (or 2) once you know the conditions. The last several all had such crazy random conditions involved that it was very hard to get multiple unlocks in a single game (unlike the original set of variants that could relatively easily all be obtained in a single game).
Like I said, I dunno if this actually enters his head or not or if story dictates all, but I prefer being able to get a couple in a game if I can.
And I want to thank Chris for making losing to Iron Legacy one of the conditions, because that's so much easier to accomplish than actually beating him.
My first go against him in the app (with that same team, except SST first) had Tachyon down to 2 HP at the end of her first turn and nobody with Ongoing destruction in hand -- it was a little rough.
I agree on the Freedom Six unlocks. Going through each unlock with my fiance, some are just so convoluted that it never feels like playing. The conditions aren't something that would organically happen most of the time, so the whole game is just manipulating one hero with various powers, heaps of friendly fire, and mountains of waiting (I'm looking at Dark Watch NightMist here. Or Horus Ra.) It's still a slight sense of accomplishment when that variant pops up, but I sure am sick of Ambuscade and GloomWeaver, just to have the benefit of not having things destroyed before the other seventeen parts of the puzzle fall into place.
I did have some legitimate fun unlocking Price of Freedom Wraith, however! It basically felt like playing a regular game, just with a layer of a challenge, instead of half a dozen unnecessary-but-neat-story-wise hoops. Also, that was actually the first time I brought Mr Fixer against his nemeses. It was fantastic.
Fighting Chairman at The Block. Had the loss to Iron Legacy set up.
Argent Adept let Unity play a card, giving The Wraith a power use, doing 5 damage to Bunker, The Chairman, and The Operative, killing all 3 of them.
Unlocked The Wraith, Bunker, and Unity (she was at 6 hp with 7 bots out that turn). I was I think one Fleet of Foot shy of unlocking Tachyon as well (actually, can you get it with super scientific tachyon, or sdoes it have to be base?)
Just need Tempest and Tachyon now (got absolute zero earlier, using Unity to eat his equipment).
