I haven't seen a offical admin post on this yet. Maybe I didn't go deep enough into the ones that had 50 pages.
But first the wording of Wrest the Mind:
Play this card next to a Target, other than a Hero or Villain Character Card. Whenever that target deals damage, you may redirect that damage to another target. If you do, The Visionary deals 3 psychic damage to that target and 3 psychic damage to herself.
If the target leaves play, destroy this card.
I bolded a few key words:
"you may," so you don't have too.
"If you do," Conditional reaction.
"The Visionary" & "herself"
Basically the general arguement is does she take the damage if redirects and kills the target thus removing the card. I think the best way to view this is the order of operations.
Target: Electro-Pulse Bomb (Omintron device: 15HP).
Start of Villain turn. EPB does 15 damage to 4 heros.
Wrest the Mind is used to Redirect 15 damage to EPB
Conditional Reaction is activate:
15 damage to EPB
3 Damage to EPB
3 Damage to Visionary.
But there are two interupts. So the Order would be
15 Damage to EPB
Destroy EPB
Destroy Wrest the Mind
3 Damage to EPB (From The Visionary not the card as the card doesn't do the damage and The Visionary is still in play, also it is a Conditional Reaction so it happens because she did the action) Damage is ignored as the target is destroyed.
3 Damage to Visionary (as she is still in play and the damage is from a Conditional Reaction of her, and not damage from the card).
If I could get a Admin/Game designer to verify if this is correct that would be nice.
