Anyone have hero job/type info?

I love playing this game all random-like and lose a lot but it's the nature of playing it randomly! And I'm still having fun!

My friends are tired of losing so they want a table of what the heroes "DO" (tank, support, heal, DPS, etc.)

Does anyone know where I can find that?

I have all the cards.. so if it's got almost all of them that'd be great!

Thanks!

This is an ongoing debate, but my stance is that this is not a role-based game.  Most heroes easily fulfill more than one role, and you don't need to have roles covered in order to succeed.  The only thing you need, in most cases, is damage, which all characters can do.  (Some better than others, but the characters that don't do as much damage contribute in useful, often unique ways.)  I also find it helpful to have a character or two that can remove ongoing and environment cards.  Other than that, though, it's all good.

Learn what options the characters have, learn what you need to watch out for from the villains, and you will improve.

The problem with this is that most heroes can do multiple things, to some degree, while other heroes are more specialized. You might want to check out Flamethower's Guides (linked below) they are very good for explaining how each hero works. After that… someone will probably come along and give you a good summary of the boxes each hero can be put into, but I'm not that good yet :stuck_out_tongue:

well, if you want a quick archetype list:

Legacy: support/buff, damage control

Tachyon: buildup/ping damage, damage control

Wraith: literally everything

Bunker: tank, low consistent damage/buildup (omni-cannon)

AZ: berzerker/ALL THE DAMAGE

Tempest: crowd control, damage, some healing

Unity: lots of damage here too. some alternate effects, but not many

Fanatic: crash-and-burn (takes and deals damage; loses health to do more damage)

Ra: ALL THE DAMAGE

Visionary: support (control, as opposed to buff)

Haka: tank, low consistent damage with some really strong attacks here and there.

Scholar: tank, heal, damage, support (pretty complex, though)

Mr. Fixer: support (cover fire, crowd control, damage control, punches through shields, etc.)

ExPatriette: ALL THE DAMAGE

Argent Adept: ALL THE SUPPORT

Nightmist: see Wraith

Chrono-Trigger: damage, some damage-related support

Omnitronks: utilitarian; combine Tachyon (plays lots of cards) with Bunker (tanky, automatic attacks), with some slight elements from Tempest (crowd control, healing).

My classifications for this game are not the classics.

Instead:

Damage Dealers

Ongoing Control

Environment Control

Villain Deck Control

Tanking

Most heroes do many of these things, but nobody does them all. Villain deck control is probably the rarest, with Damage the most common. You can run into trouble if for example you have a team of Legacy, Ra, and Haka. None of them can destroy ongoings.

I like your classifications, though I think I'd split Damage Dealers into Single Target Damage and Multi-Target Damage.  Omni-X, for instance, has lots of great attacks that hit everything, but only his Plasma Cannon deals consistent single-target damage.  Similarly, Ra has tons of attacks that deal damage to one target, though only a scant handful with multiple targets.

Yeah, damage has a lot variance. Also fast damage like Ra versus slow damage like AZ.

You can also take a look at this, although ST isn't considered yet.

Thanks!

I think this will be enough to answer their questions.

I'm just trying to keep them playing until they have a chance to learn the heroes enough to not need something like this.

I still play randomly :D

Right now i am gathering info and thinking about ideal solution to categorize all heroes. I started doing it before but results we're quite - weird to be honest. Now i have all heroes so i can see all ins and outs of the decks - and i  thought about optimal solution - not very accurate but it`s not - ra has five damage because i think so. This project will be wholly open to critique of felllow members of the forum.

I'm always interested in numerical approaches to this categorization effort. We have a lot of perceptive wiggle room. (see: Akash'Bhuta's win rate)
