Hi, I just bought the game with both its expansions. I played it before with 3-4-5 people and its very fun but where i been running into proplems is when i play with me and one other person. The problem with me is that my gaming group is ussualy only me and one other person in rare cases i have more people involve so i was wondering if there are any house rules that i should consider? I honestly dont care about loosing but my gf or my brother do so yea. any help?
Well, generally the idea is that if there are only two players, one of you (or both) should play two heroes, so that you still have at least three heroes in the game. An alternative I tried with my partner when we were starting out but only playing one hero each is to have an extra turn after the Environment has had its turn. We won lots of games that way, and were probably somewhat overpowered, but it was fun anyway :). These days my partner tends to just play two heroes while I stick with one, so H=3 and we can just play with the rules as normal :).
The official way is to have one player control two heros. Once you know the cards fairly well this isn't too difficult.
There is another suggestion on BGG here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/872326/my-journey-to-find-the-best-rules-for-a-2-players. The basic idea is to play with H=3, two regular heros and one hero who starts incapacitated, but instead of using one incapacitated ability each player gets to use one on the incapacitated heros turn. It looks like the current version of that variant also suggests cycling which incapacitated hero to use each turn for some variety.
Oh thank you for the idea's and we liked the Villian, Hero, Enviroment, Hero scheme but we might just try the H=3 aproach. i will let you know which we like best. Thank you again.
