Card Art Based On Real People

I know there's a few of them out there. Does anyone have the full list?

We've never compiled one, but that'd be just the thing for the wiki, once we have.

Granted I don't know who is who, but most extras featured in both Rook City and Infernal Relics is based on fans. Such as all underbosses and thugs from the Chairman's deck is someone. Any person in Spite's deck that isn't Spite or a hero, though Collateral Damage is a maybe. I don't think Plague Rat and Matriarch feature anyone. GloomWeaver's Cultist and even Vast Following feature real life folks. Apostate homes one of them aswell in... I don't feel like digging out the cards right now, but it is the one where the guy is being impaled in the chest by Apostate and Fanatic is flying towards them. I can't recall any other ones at the moment, like I said much too lazy to open it up and dig into the cards.

Shattered Timelines i'm not so sure about, as it didn't offer it as a reward tier in the kickstarter.

It's Remorseless Provocation *mutterdidn'tevenratecultistmutter*. Citizens Hammer and Anvil are based on Adam and Christopher, I believe.

Oh yes! That's right, didn't even think about Hammer and Anvil.

Something else I had also remembered is I think the environment Rook City holds people as well. The Dr. Tramata (bad spelling!), Tony Taurus, and maybe the Racketeer.

As far as Shattered Timelines goes, there's a Warden Hoefle in the Block and a Tom Hoefle doing pick-up and shipping of Vengeance and GSF from Essen.

My wife and I are The Deputy and The Broker.

I hate your wife, Arenson, but this is mostly because I really hate her underling.

.....how did you guys get on the cards?!

It was a kickstarter option for Rook City and Infernal Relics.

Not that Arenson's underling is any better.

I just fought against The Chairman, and got my ass kicked. When the Deputy came out, I couldn't bear to kill it because I kept laughing. Grrr you Arenson!

It's even funnier when arenson9 kills himself…

:sunglasses:

Yeah … um … it was amusing the first few times I was with a group playing against The Chairman and people would talk about having to hit Andy, stop Andy, kill Andy, destroy Andy. Got old before the first game was done.

"Quickly! We've got to destroy the character whose artwork is based on Andy's appearance and yet remains a distinct and separate individual from him!"

But you die so well! Even if you are beardless.

It's also worth noting in this thread that, while it's not a drawing of the person, Tempest's point of origin is kind of a cameo.

I believe one (maybe two) of Voss' cards are based on friends of the >G folks.  Tamar used to actually post here.  Can't remember who the other one was.

There are more. >:)

Yeah, there are lots of art references we don't even know about and many name references, also.

Those >G folks are evil…

You know, in a good way.
