I'm sorry if this has been asked already, but I couldn't find an answer to this, and it's been on my mind for a while.
When a Hero can choose which damage type they inflict (such as Mr Fixer, depending on his fighting style), are they allowed to choose "irreducable"?

Unfortunaley no. Irreducable is not a damage "type". It is a modifier in addition to its type and amount.
No because irreducible is a damage property (or caracteristic) so it can be fire irreducible in wich case the type is fire.
Damn forum ninja ;)
Darn, we always thought it could be chosen.
Is irreducable the only case of this? I assume Melee, Fire, Radiant, Projectile, etc. are all damage types?

The current rulebook actually has a compete list of the available damage types on the bottom of page 7:
"The Sentinels of the Multiverse damage types are: cold, energy, fire, infernal, lightning, melee, projectile, psychic, radiant, sonic, and toxic"
It also mentions that "Damage can be irreducible, regardless of its type."
(Oddly, it neglected to include Fluffy Bunny damage. )

I'd place irreducable in the same bucket as +/- damage effects under the general heading of "modifiers"
Oh, brilliant. Thanks for the link, Rabit!
I have no idea if that list is in my copy of the rulebook. That'll teach me to assume I know it all.
I think that damage type was introduced in the Buffyverse expansion – Anya the vengeance demon is particularly susceptible to it. Joss and Christopher seemed to really have fun with that expansion.
I've said this before, but you guys always talk about fluffy bunny damage like it's a ridiculous concept.
Fluffy bunny damage is a serious thing, as anyone who's tried to use a syringe to force-feed a rabbit who has been sick and got better but still has no appetite and doesn't want your stupid puréed mush will know all too well.
Fluffy Bunnies are only dangerous in their Jackalopes.
I had a pet bunny named snowball. It was white and fluffy. It was also an evil spawn of some forsaken plane of eternal darkness.
It refused to eat carots, celery or lettuce.
It preferred to eat (in order) Carpet, furniture, Human Flesh, plastic, Chicken Wire, bread.
It actually ate the plastic water bottle, that hung on the outside of its cage.
Eventually it escaped the house and a neighborhood Dog ate it.
