Yeah, with the serifs being the only visible part, it's possible to be a lot of letters. I think these are the options:

B, D, E, F, H, I, K, L, M, N, P, or R

I'm trying to come up with a word that would relate to Dawn (or another name she might have gone by at that time)… Not working.

I actually tried "Dawn and Pa" in Google and… Apparently there's something/someone known as "Dawn and Paul", because all listed items came back related to them… (Towards the bottom were "Dawn and Pakistan" and "Dawn and Pachirisu", neither of which are useful.)
