Cool game. Four session reports on BGG

Picked up SOTM from Orc's Nest in London a couple of weeks ago.

Hats off to the design team for a cracking job. Great gameplay which absolutely nails the theme. Thus far I have only played solo. Very much looking forward to multiplayer.

Four session reports up on Board Game Geek.

Regards,

Check out the Events forum.  There should be a pinned topic about Skype meetups if you need a ready-made group that is familiar with the rules.  Welcome to the forums and the Multiverse!

Fentum,

If you'd prefer a face to face game or two in London, pop along to a London on Board meeting. They're held at the Red Herring on Gresham Street most weeks. There's one this Tuesday (4th December). I'm always up for a game.

There's games running in London? Wow cool, I'm about an hour's train journey from there (though I have no idea where Gresham Street is). Pity I work Tuesdays :P.

Welcome to the forums, Fentum. I'd recommend grabbing a Google+ account, that's how we play a lot with people on here.

Ameena,

It's a regular board games club. Most of the time we meet on Monday (which I can't make), Tuesday and Wednesday, but the Christmas party bookings really mess up our schedule. It's called London On Board and you can find details on the www.meetup.com website under that name. We play a lot of different board games, but I'm almost always up for a game of Sentinels.

The pub is near St Paul's, not too far away from Bank, Liverpool Street or Moorgate underground, if that helps orient you.

You know, for some reason I assumed you were in the US, PWatson…I think it was just 'cause of the paying-for-my-shipping thing, I just assumed everyone doing so was over there in America, lol.

Anyway, atm I'm working five days a week 'cause it's nearly Christmas, but once that's died down (usually around January-February), I go back to my normal hours and so have Mondays and Thursdays off (whatever the case, though, I never work weekends). I've been looking for a new job for months now (for various reasons, one of the main ones is that the train fares are so expensive I'm using nearly half my wages just to get to work :P). Travelling to London, I can get trains terminating at Victoria or at Charing Cross (the former is faster, the latter stops as Waterloo East as its penultimate stop so usually I get off there). If it looks like I might actually be available for a session at some point then I'll look into it and see which Tube station is nearest.

Maybe me and my boyfriend can come along some time. We have some other card games too - Ascension, Chrononauts, and Braggart. And another one, Forbidden Island, which isn't a card game but has cards in it, and is only sort of a board game 'cause the "board" consists of loads of small square tiles placed together.

Anyway…atm I'm busy on weekdays due to work, but if can I manage to get a new job then of course I don't know when I'll be available then either, lol.

I can second London On Board as a great place to game, I think there are also Sunday sessions in St. James and the occasional weekend retreat in Eastbourne. there is often quite a broad range of games being played so it is quite accommodating. I'm usually in Isleworth on a Wednesday as it is more local for me, there are a few of us there who enjoy sotm so it's not difficult to get a game going.

Forgot about the Sundays. I don't usually make the trek down from north London during the weekend.

Thanks for the heads up. I have heard of London on board, but I never seem to get my schedule sorted. I am about an hour north in general. I'll have to pop over next time I'm in on business. If a dapper gent brings in SOTM, do you believe he'll get a game going?

PS The Red Herring. What a cracking name for a pub to play games in.

Skype and Google plus link ups? Holy cow Wraith! That sounds ideal.

I play wargames via Vassal using Skype, and enjoy it.

How do I get into SOTM ON LINE?

Hit up the topic I mentioned and they should help you out.  I'm busy until the end of the semester, so I've yet to actually have the pleasure of playing with any other forum-goers.

Thanks Reckless. I am on that forum and cracking on.
