And then you get free.
Unfortunately, Matchstickman's question had a typo in it and stated that "Schmotor Schmo" was protecting the UK.
We couldn't figure out what that was, hence our confusion. But Schmoctor Schmoo makes sense now!
Proof that the joke may have gone a little too ahead of us. ![]()
I do hope someone informs Christopher one day that it's pronounced "PROF-it-a-ble" and he keeps putting the emPHAsis on the wrong sylLAble. <.<
I believe you'll find that to be an acceptable way to pronounce the word in question.
We're putting all of our eggs into the brooding and cloaks basket
Gotta have the best though. Beards have power.
I do not, sir.
I do not in the least. ![]()
Speaking of pronouncing things, I never knew it was re-quit-al and not re-quite-al. Did anyone else think the same?
I mean, there's a lot to be said for that combination [glances at Dark Conductor Argent Adept], but the British accent and awesome jacket, tho… uhm, let me get back to you, this requires some internal debate.
I'm staying out of the pronunciation debate; I often mangle my own words. ![]()
Looked it up. No, it is not. Nor is “requital” pronounced that way.
When I wrote my “shm shm” question, I took great pains to spell everything phonetically. And I was very gratified when Christopher failed to get through it without chortling.
Just think of it as profiteroles and Captain Cosmic Acquittal. That fits him nicely!
I understood what you were aiming for Matchstickman. The fact I live in the UK and grew up watching old and new versions of the show probably made it easier.
Throwback Thursday to when Christopher and Adam were original with their brand stealing, such as Toditos and Tony Bobbins.
You should find that person who liked infinitor then, they'll probably make a good fit.
I never really looked closely, but yeah, I sure would have thought it was Ermine, too. The goggles are Tachyon's original HUD goggles, which she's pictured as wearing very rarely–just in 3 cards, one of which has motion blur, one of which is in profile, and one of which is in extreme close-up–and you can never see her eyes through them, whereas you can see Ermine's through hers.
It just occurred to me that it's odd that Captain Cosmic can apparently make transparent portions of his constructs.
I think we’ve stumbled upon the reason why Christopher places the emphasis in profitable on the second syllable…
It’s a Freudian slip revealing the fact the GTG uses all of its profits (that aren’t reinvested into some new venture) to buy profiteroles!
Paul, at the GTG staff meeting last week: “Ladies and gentlemen, with the success of Spirit Island and Laser Ryderz, Q3 2017 was very good for us. Prepare to put your gym memberships to good use…”
Jodie rolls into the meeting room on a forklift, with the forklift carrying a full pallet of profiteroles.
Headcanon'd!
I feel a little bit bad, but the most absolutely fascinating and interesting part of this episode has got to be the stuff with Galactra. The majority of the story this time around was pretty much business as usual and stuff we already knew, but Galactra is just so fascinating.
She demanded power from the Cosmos and a passing Singular being of Passions (need to figure out who this is) just gave her a bunch of power and said "go have fun", and one of the first things we see her do is "I like this moon, Imma gonna take that, bye" which is just... what do you even say to that kind of personality. I love it so much.
Actually, another thing, I'm not a big comics person in general, and this episode really helped me think about and appreciate how long some of these "Events" end up being in terms of publishing. A year of publishing for a single event just isn't something that I'm used to thinking about, and that's kind of eye opening.
That brings up another question, where do you keep a moon after you steal it?
