I think it’s the whole “Princess of the Mall” bit that is pretty unique. I’ve seen some quirky kid/teen hero concepts in my day but I don’t think I’ve come across that one.

Jubilee (Marvel) has a similar backstory, in that she was living and hiding out at a mall after losing her parents, but – in her first comic appearance – after some of the X-Men saved her from an attack, she followed them and never went back. So we didn’t get her actual time at the mall, just the end of it. That might be as close as is out there.
