It's happening. Best news of e3 so far
About time. We've had a movie sequel, a prequel, and some other spin offs, but we're finally getting a remake.
Why is a remake a good thing? Doesn't the original still exist? Genuinely confused here.
Hardware limitations have changed drastically over the years, and it's kind of cool to see what the game could look like run on a new gen console. It's basically like restoring a work of art or making a new edition of a book. The question of whether or not how good it is will be dependent on how much is changed, but at the same time, I would at least like to see FF7's story and aesthetics attempted with modern hardware and the ability to have voice acting to both tell the story and better define the characters…
I played that one a bit but never really got into it. I know it's been a wish from fans for a long time to get a remake out. At this point with the amount of rumors of it being remade over the years, I'll believe it when it actually releases.
Great game, but now it is really dated. Not just graphics either, the gameolay doesn't hold up.
How does the gameplay not hold up? The basic mechanics of the game were pretty solid, and the materia system is still a great way to customize characters even in today's market. The mechanics of most classic videogames like Mario and Chrono Trigger I would say still hold their own in the modern world, which is why people still play these games.
I'd totally play through it again. Never did kill the emerald weapon.

Terebinth so two ps4 versions coming. The first is the of version that came out a while back. So just better cut scenes. The second version is the remake. This is redone from the top to bottom and has been on everyone's wish list for a while that are fans of final fantasy. I think they got the hint when they were announcing the pic version at last e3. They started off by making it sound like a remake, got everyone excited and then said the words pc version and everyone cried and sent angry letters to square. So ya.
its like one of those moments at this e3 where during the Sony press conference, they started playing Star Wars music and everyone was like battlefront yay, and then out walks the Disney infinity guy and the whole audience goes quiet and stops applauding while he was out there since no one cares about that game.

The problem is that Final Fantasy VII was a very graphics-driven game; it primarily sold off the FMV cutscenes, which at the time were quite rare in console games. Any graphics-driven game tends to become rather underwhelming as time goes on. Now if you go back and play V which was driven by gameplay or VI which was driven by the story, then you can still enjoy them greatly even if you have no nostalgic attachment to it, but VII was ultimately forgettable for anyone that didn't grow up during that era.
You know I was kidding right? At this point in time, it's not really a spoiler. It's kind of like Gwen Stacy dying in Amazing Spiderman 2. Sorry, spoiler.
