First Run at the Promo Villans

Recently got my hands on the Oversized Villan cards and some board game time since I am switching internet providers.

All 3 games I played got crushed against the villans. Though I find the pace for them much more attractive and there is more imminent threat than the regular versions of them.

Not sure if I was doing anything wrong. Linked the reports of my playthrough.

Sounds about right for MBB. He's kind of swingy, in my opinion, though. With the right card draws, you can almost sit back and play on auto-pilot. But with standard or bad draws, he's a beast. Pile the damage on, and do it quickly. Burn heroes out, if necessary.

It sounds like you didn't make any rule errors. That's sometimes a reason a new villain cleans your clock.

Rook City really doesn't help. That place is a ****hole.

I would like to note that AZ should not be doing much healing against either Baron Blade. He ramps up fast. This ain't no Dawn fight. AZ should tear through his 29 HP, dealing it right back to Blade. If you do that then Tempest and Legacy would only need to deal around 40 to win.

Cosmic Omnitron is just hard. It is one of the few villains that is harder with 5 heroes than with 3. I have a short guide to beating it here:

Someone mentioned I should put guides in their own thread. I think I might do that. Overall I love the promo villains.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I figured that much, gonna give MBB another shot in a more neutral environment.

The first game I got coolant blast out and was able to trade with Baron Blade fast. Which is why I tried the healing approach next.

I think the fact I had Rook City didn't help.

I guess I should try keeping Omnitron on side A when I can, but the fact all components blow up kinda makes it hard ><

Yeah. Rook City. Ugh. I don't really enjoy playing that environment. Difficulty aside, it is by far the least fun deck of the entire game for me personaly.
