Fixer doesn't like Guise :(

Tried comboing Guise the Barbarian with Yeah, I'm That Guy on Mr. Fixer, didn't realize that the text of the Style cards would make the card self-destruct immediately.

Unless this is a bug?

Nope it's intended.   Any come into play affects will be copied as well so Styles and Modes in play will be destroyed unless Fixed Point is out.   If you play Uh,Yeah, I'm That Guy on them and then they play a mode or style then they will be fine since Uh,Yeah, I'm That Guy doesn't have the style or mode keyword.

Edit: He does like Legacy a lot with Inspiring Presense

I had a let me see that borrowing fixers dual crowbars, but when guise died, fixer didn’t regain use of the tool. Intended or bug?

Bug since all his cards should leave play.

That sounds like a bug to me. When Guise is incapped, all of his cards would be removed from the game and so the text "on" the crowbars would no longer be edited by Lemme See That to refer to Guise and should revert to Fixer.

I don't get the card mimicking "when this card enters play" text.

The card entered play without that text on it, it is already in play when you give the chosen player a high five.  After you give the high five and copy the text the card is already in play.

It isn't an end or start of turn effect that can have multiple things occuring inside a phase, this is a singular event that triggers an effect.  It shouldn't trigger effects that didn't exist when it entered play.

If we are having copied text react as if the card just entered play then cards that react to cards entering play should react to themselves entering play.  Because that is the exact same timing.

Well, it's "because Christopher said so" really, but I can give a rationalization.

You decide to play Uh Yeah, I'm That Guy!

The card begins to enter play.

"When this card enters play, give another player a high-five. If you do, ..." - the card is entering play, so that happens.

Now Uh Yeah, I'm That Guy! has the text of, for instance, Inspiring Presence, including:

"When this card enters play, each hero target regains 1 HP." - the card is entering play, so that happens.

The card finishes entering play.

You continue on your merry way!

A follow-up question.  So the copied text appears before the last line of Uh Yeah I'm That Guy (At the Start of your Turn, destroy this card)?  In other words, Start of Turn effects (Like AZ Cold Snap or Tempest Electrical Storm) will occur before the card is destroyed.  This is intended, right?

If it was in play before Guise played Uh,Yeah, I'm That Guy! then start of turn affects will trigger before its destruction on Guise's turn.

Just to make sure I'm getting this straight:  If Fixer has a style out, and then Guise plays YITG on Fixer, the card acts as if Guise played the style, so the actual style  card in front of Fixer will be destroyed?  Yikes!

Yes, because Yeah, I'm That Guy! copies the come into play text about destroying any other Style cards in play.

But if Guise plays Uh Yeah, I'm That Guy, and then Fixer plays a Style, then neither will be destroyed because UYITG is not a style, even when copying styles.

Yep, similar would happen with Bunker's Mode cards.

This also ruins Guise and the Naturalist, as it will destroy his forms.

For some reason it works as if the card is entering play, but not being played, or it would copy the text of Twist the Ether and you would have to play Uh, Yeah next to a target.

I presume this was a specific ruling to prevent Uh, Yeah from being played next to a target which would just be giant can of worms.  I just tried Uh, Yeah on Visionary with Twist the Ether on herself and Wrest the Mind on a Construct attached to her.  According to the lightning bolt Uh, Yeah recognizes Twist the Ether and Wrest the Mind as Ongoings in Visionary's play area.  There is no effect from them though, presumably because Uh, Yeah is not next to a target?

Anything that goes next to a target will have no affect in relation to Uh,Yeah, I'm That Guy!

Because it doesn't have you play it next to a target, even though it copies that wording.  Apparently copying the text counts as the card entering play, but not as the card being played/put into play.

Which makes no sense.

Take it up with Christopher.  I was surprised to learn about it supposed to do the come into play affects as it was.  This certainly isn't the first ruling that came about due to the video game that there was disagreement on.

Thinking of which we are long overdue for a Fireside chats update.

Back in my day, we had crazy large rule disagreements without these fancy video games, arguing uphill both ways without shoes in the snow, using only our wits, semantics, previous understandings, and more semantics. They don't make rule disagreements around here like they used to.

I know I've witnessed some of them.
