We've reached an interesting point in Sentinels of the Multiverse where nearly every hero in the game has a nemesis they can be paired with. After Villains of the Multiverse (which will give us vengance style nemesis for almost everyone) you have to imagine they're going to go for another small set expansion. Another comfy "Two Heroes/Four Villains/Two Enviornments" deal. But where will they look? Which heroes are left?
Well I'm guessing there will be some Mini Expansion hero(s) alongside the VotM expansion so that will give them something. And they'll have to Heroes in that expansion to pair up. Who else?
The Scholor is (to my knowledge) the last Hero to lack a nemesis deck of anykind. He has a "Nemesis", but it's a minor one in Proletariat's deck. He's probably high on the list.
Bunker and Absolute Zero probably need one too. They have nemeses, but only in the Vengence style. Will Freight Train and Proletariat get individual decks? Or Will we see new Nemesis for our heroes to battle? Time will tell but I'm leaning on them to get new hero decks, maybe in mini Expansions!
Finally Unity is probably due for one. She has a Nemesis in Iron Legacy, but that's sort of alternate Timeline biz and he's also Nemesis to 5 other heroes, I think Unity deserves her own Villain.
Those are my thoughts so far. Is there any Hero I forgot about who is lonely with no name to curse at the heavans? Let me know in the comments. Also, who do you think deserves a Nemesis next? My Vote is on Unity and The Scholar for sure with Bunker and AZ as runner up's or Mini Expansion candidates.
Edit: Also, it has been stated that Unity, Bunker, and AbZero will not have their own stand alone nemesis decks by Christopher (though there are some who disagree based on his sentence structure. We love reading into stuff around here). Fright Train and Proletariat are the primary nemesis for Bunker ans AbZero. Looking at the Challenge modes that were officially posted, Iron Legacy is listed as Unity's primary Nemesis, so the chances of her getting a stand alone villain deck seem to be small.
Scholar's nemesis, as you probably saw in the Challenges, is Biomancer. And by all the clues we have been given, it looks like Biomancer will indeed be one of our main villains for VotM (hes the guy with the white hood).
As for future expansions, I've said this before a lot around the forums, but by all accounts it looks like there will not be any more standard format expansions. The one after VotM will likely be the last one (as much as I hate to say it).
According to the challenges, his nemesis is someone called Biomancer. Based on the little icon beside the challenge that mentions Biomancer, this person is shown on Tachyon's Sucker Punch card. Maybe this villain will be a promo deck coming with Villains of the Multiverse? https://greaterthangames.com/content/challenges-achievements-and-steam
I feel like Unity deserves her own villain too, but maybe it makes sense for her not to have one, since she's supposedly an intern rather than a hero. This actually puts an interesting spin on her frustration about this as expressed through the quotes she gives Swift Bot. For instance, in Sentinel Tactics, Swift Bot says, " I am very fast and good at science, but I do not think interns should be heroes, because I am a jerk. " But note how "just an intern" Unity doesn't a nemesis just to herself! Maybe her status is actually protecting her and that's the real motivation behind it.
It doesn't say that he isn't a team player. Only that he's proud and RELUCTANT to work as a team. He still is doing it, just not as readily as Sergeant Nukem or Hammer and Anvil.
Sorry, it wasn't supposed to be a direct quote, it still basically implies he prefers going it on his own. That to me strikes me as odd for a character so far only seen in a team set up.
I'm betting that Plauge Rat is not working for RevoCorp by choice. He was captured, tampered with genetically, and is being used as a hunting dog on a very tight leash. I'm sure if given the oppertunity he would slaughter his handlers and escape.
What are the chances of RevoCorp being heavily involved in Villains?
They have connections to Ambuscade and The Operative, so that covers another two of the characters shown on the cover (if that woman is the operative as most assume).
If Aminia has new powers then that could be artificially produced just like with Ambuscade, which could potentially link her to RevoCorp too.
If going on the assumption that the shadowy figure in the Uprising scenarios for Sentinel Tactics is Revenant and he’s still the head of RevoCorp by then it means they have some kind of alliance that could have possibly been around for some time perhaps.
I figure the government has a Revocorp connection and Revocorp spun the hero attack in a negative light, hence the Tactics anti-hero situation. Unless it is simply the existance of heroes which summoned the big bad!
There's also the connection between Pike, Baron Blade, and RevoCorp. That's a lot of people doing chemical experiements, and at least Baron Blade is officially tied to RevoCorp now. Plus, if the Operative is working for Revenant in Uprising, who's to say they weren't previously? Like for Spite; Pike may have produced the chemicals, but RevoCorp probably ran the testing, just like with Setback.
