With the Multiverse ending I know a lot of us are sad to see it go but excited for the RPG, more tactics, ext. However, a lot of us also adore the mechanics of the card game and for me personally it's my favorite table top card game system. So I'm wondering so of the possiblities we could see with the mechanics in the future even pie in the sky kind of dreams.
Eventual Reboot or Next Generation: Well it would make sense that some time far in the future events in the other games cause some kind of reboot as comics do. If it rebooted going back to the card game would make a lot of sense. Also while Sentinals told it's story some times people come up with new story ideas. Look at Nail Gaimen and Sandman or Frank Miller and Dark Knight 3. I could see a future generation of heroes and some older heroes taking back their spots representing a new generation of heroes.
Put into a new game: These mechanics could always be brought into a new game I doubt it because this game is made to be a super hero game and a lot of the design exists around that. That said who knwos there is a billion ways to make super heroes or mess with these concepts idk.
Licenced Deals: As far as I know GtG hasn't done licenced things really but I mean this is such a fantstic system I do think people who have super hero universes could benfit from having GtG design them a game in the style of Sentinals. Hell it could even be like an indie hero universe where people with indie heroes got together a cool set of heroes and badies to go into the system.
That's my ideas I guess I'm just having a hard time letting it totally go. That said I'm obviously super excited and I'm glad it's ending on it's own terms as opposed to dying out with intrest or something.
(I suppose they could look at doing some of the expansions (such as Rook City), but I'd be fine with just the core set.
