So, the Greatest Legacy promo card got me wondering: which of the heroes were around during WW2 in some form, and could there be scenarios involving their battles?
It seems like there was a version of Bunker running around during WW2 (based on a card in the Time Cataclysm environement). Haka would have been alive during this time. The Argent Adept wouldn't have been alive yet, but there was likely some sort of Virtuoso of the Void. Am I missing anyone? Just how old is the Scholar?
What villains would have been around? Akosh'bhuta and Gloomweaver would both be around. So's Apostate, but I get the impression that he won't appear until after Fanatic does. What if the Matriarch wasn't the first person to wear that mask? Chairman Pike was alive at the time, but probably not directly involved...
Blade sr. might have been involved, as a young man... or perhaps even his father. La Capitan can show up anywhen - indeed, she seems to have recruited Chip from around that time. (And, of course, other could use time travel, too, if needed.) The first big boom of UFO sighting happened during the war - what if Voss (a precocious young genetically-engineer juggernaught at age twelve) staged an invasion, but was beaten back and went to harrass another galaxy for a few decades to gain strength?
On the hero side, there are the time-travellers, again, Legacy, Bunker, Scholar, Haka and not-Adept seem like the only really logical calls thusfar.
For environments, Megalopolis still works fine in the past, Atlantis was still ruined, Insula Primalis has hardly changed in millions of years (40s heroes loved "lost world"settings even more than modern ones, really), Rook City mostly works, there's no exact date on when Anubis returned, and the Realm of Dischord is eternal. And, yet again, don't rule out time travel.
I really like the idea for time-appropriate promos, here. And maybe a "Beaches Of Normandy" or "Meapolis World's Fair, 1939" environment deck.
If you wanted a story fight, you could send people back to get Greatest Legacy to help them stop Iron Legacy, maybe run into omnitron while there. I'm going to assume that Legacy is GL's grand son, having him meet his grandfather would do a good job of shaming him.
I would absolutely love a WWII battlefield setting for a fight, land mines, artillery, bombing runs, insanity.
Modern Legacy is actually Greatest Legacy's son. All that war and such kept him from having kids until late in life (and then, shortly thereafter, he and Baron Blade's father both apparently died in an explosion).
It would be pretty cool to see a "recent history" type environment, since we have 1883, modern, prehistoric-analogue, various futures and some out-of-time/all-the-time messiness.
Where is that from? I want to see all the storylines, but all I have read so far is the character bios on the main site, and they don't have anything about that.
The kickstarter for Shattered Timelines leaked details, I suspect that when the promo is released (it's coming with Vengence) they will update the site with the bio asthey did with the others… although looking at the site now I don't seem to see the Freedom Six
OK, I found it. I checked the wiki and it doesn't have bios for the promo cards either. I always assume TLTach is from the Iron Legacy timeline, when she takes over after he leaves (before they are presumedly defeated) or something, but I sure would like to know.
I'm working on my own sentinels story arc, and I'd love to have all this information. It is crazy trying to continue a story no matter what happens in the battles. (it is pretty fun, but there are a ton of arcs already)
TL Tach is one of the Freedom Six (we know this because her promo is among those released as the "Freedom Six Promos," who are mentioning in Visionary's bio. Visionary's cards tease Iron Legacy, and the Freedom Six are his six nemeses. So, yes, that's a safe assumption.
