Can someone explain the intended interaction between Into the Stratosphere (Tempest) and indestructible cards? The manual entry under indestructible says “cannot be removed from play”, which I assume means that it cannot be put on top of the deck due to ItS, but I wanted to check. Perhaps there should be an errata for this, since the term ‘indestructible’ doesn’t seem to imply ‘can’t be removed from play’?
I interpret indestructible as in-destroy-able, which implies that the Destroy keyword cannot be applied to this card (I.e. cannot be moved from play to trash.). Anything else should be fine. IMO.
As per this thread, the rules are intended to imply that putting them on top of the deck is removing them from play. Errata is coming soon, apparently.
Now hold on a sec, certainly it’s not a case of Indestructable cards being immune to ItS, right?
I mean, take Matriarch on Advanced mode, for example. I doubt anybody would have a problem with Tempest sending Huginn or Muninn ItS (in fact, its kinda thematic) the only reason there’s a problem is because it utterly screws Spite. This is a function of Spite not playing Villan Cards after he flips, its NOT because Indestructable cards arent “supposed” to be delayable via ItS.
The problem isn’t ItS, or Indestructable cards… it’s Spite. He’s a really fun villan to play against with the right team, but with the wrong team he’s just terrible.
Tempest: ItS, screws him, we just went over that. But he’s not the only one…
Legacy: with Take Down, stopping Spite from being able to play villan cards on his Serial Killer side if the right drug comes up first, easily slowing him down enough for all characters to get their ultimate setup.
We’re still waiting for an official clarification on what exactly “indestructible” means in the face of cards such as Into the Stratosphere, right? I want to add the Smoke Bombs clarification to my PDF but figure I’ll wait for the official answer here so I can add them both at the same time.
I like the idea of having an errata on Spite’s flip side stating that drug cards cannot be removed from play in any manner. This prevents Spite from “permanently” loosing drugs, as well allows indestructable cards to be otherwise removed from play so long as they don’t end up in the trash.
Spiff: it’s actually very clear what Indestructable means, and its even spelled out in the RC rulebook. It’s not a case of whether ItS is a legal play on Indestructable cards… It is. At least for now.
JayMann: That sounds reasonable to me.
Yes, but Christopher has stated that he is going to errata that. So regardless of whether it’s now, the point is that it won’t be soon.
