I have a dilemma. You see, FantasyLiterature.com is holding their annual limerick contest. And as you've probably gathered, I'm rather fond of limmericks. On the other hand, of thethreecontests they've held so far, I've won two of them (I used to go by the username of Sir Read-a-Lot). So should sit back and let other people participate, or should I participate anyways? I don't care about the prize - I just like limericks.
(Incidentally, if you like the look of the books in their stacks, they hold giveaways every Thursday, with rarely more than a dozen participants. I've even won books by accident, just because I had a comment I wanted to make)
I'm currently reading "A Rage for Revenge" part of a great alien invasion series from the '80s. Every chapter ends with a wonderfully dirty and clever limmerick. For example:
A short-organed fellow named Kevin
used a vacuum to stretch it to seven,
then to eight and to nine,
and though ten was divine,
there will be film at eleven.
I'd enter every one of those in the contest if that weren't cheating. :)
