"At the start of the villain turn, discard the top H minus 2 cards..."
Does this remove the Police Backup?
"Whenever a villain card would have a player discard a card..."
1) Is discarding from the top of the one's deck "discarding"? MPS uses the "discard" terminology, but we always thought discarding applied only to cards from your hand.
2) Is the player the one doing the discarding due to MPS? It doesn't say who or what discards the top H minus 2 card. Is it the MPS doing the discarding, or the decks' owners?
1. Yes, a discard is being forced by a villain card
2. The villain card is causing the discard. Even things like "Consider the Price of Victory" doesn't specify who is causing the discard. Police Backup only cares that a villain card caused a discard.
So the “player” part of Police Backup’s text is irrelevant? What if a villain discarded cards from his own deck? Would that still destroy Police Backup?
Edit: Whoops, hadn’t read that all the way through. I thought MPS discarded from the environment deck.
If I have to clarify further then a villain card caused a player to discard a card. The villain discarding cards from just the villain deck would do nothing.
