Welcome to the forums. I'm sure Handelabra appreciates the feedback it'll be interesting to see what other tweaks they add to the multiplayer after it's out for public release.
Playing more of this game it looks like they have already fixed the hosting problem. I am also kind of surprised at how not mean people are in the chat of the game. I guess that speaks to the type of people who enjoy this game.
I am also happy to see I haven't run into many "you should have played X card instead" players. About 1/3 of my games (maybe 30 in total) have been where everyone could see cards and I can only remember 1 game where it was annoying.
Mocking chiding of Ronway aside, I actually don't mind advice. Especially when everyone acts so fast you're trying not to slow down the roll, you don't notice some cards going down - and you might end up ruining things if not sharp. So having someone pop in with a "You should've pitched this" is more an invite for "Sorry, anyone mind if I play that instead?" and a do-over. It's fine, as far as I think, so long as the delivery of such isn't "WHAT AN IDIOT" and more "This was a better call, and here's why-- ah well!".
There's fine lines, but I love having people's input. I have started hesitating before my play if I have even a moment of doubt, to either ask in chat, or wait for a few votes to show some opinion.
Usually I'm confident; but for global-effects (damage ignores, who should get an SS Tachyon deck-hunt, et cetera) I like a little interaction to make sure I'm not ruining any plans!
I try not to be critical of plays as each person has their own strategy for a hero. Last night though I really wish the person was looking at chat as it was aggravating me. He had both Modules out, Focused Apertures, and Thermal Shockwave in play. He would proceed to not hit himself as a target for Thermal Shockwave( even when Gloomweaver was the only villain target) and overall seemed to refuse to hit himself with any cold damage to heal himself. I almost feel that my earlier refusal to destroy an instrument to get rid of a relic caused him to just kill himself off.
I'm sure that might be the case. I kept trying to click suggest on himself as a target too but it didn't seem to click for him. At the least I knew he was aware he could heal since he opened up by playing Null Point Calibration Unit and healed himself for the first few rounds.
I hope I don't come off as mocking or anything. I do my best to try and post things as advice, rather than insulting someone. I apologize if that is how it was seen.
No no no. I'm saying "my jokes about Ronway aside". You weren't chiding! You just knew the best things to do and let us know 'em. I actually find that super great! I was happy people were willing to go back to re-do things to let it play out right.
With the pace of games, I totally missed your Grease Monkey, so my Haka play to cancel damage was totally redundant. You just let me know that and I was teasing at your expense. Sorry!
