New to Sentinels

Hello everyone. I am new to sentinels of the multiverse. I learned how to play the game yesterday and I also purchased the game at my local game store yesterday. Today I played the core set with a bunch of friends and I also got them into the game. As a new player I was told that there are 2 expansions and that there were kickstarters. In being new I am wondering what else sentinels of the multiverse has in general and where I'll be able to acquire these pieces so that I may complete this collection as I like it very much. I don't see much on the online store.

Thanks,

Barby

The Kickstarter for the third expansion has come and gone.

And they aren't planning on doing anymore kickstarters.  However, when they get things back in stock, you can get all the expansions and even some of the promos from the online store.

Where do you live? You can get the current stuff on Games Lore if you're in the UK/Europe. It's where I got mine.

Welcome to the Multiverse, anyway, and say goodbye to loads of your free time as you spend hours and hours playing games of this! :D

As a more specific answer to Barby's question, there are three expansions: Rook City, Infernal Relics, and Shattered TImelines. The latter was the subject of the most recent Kickstarter, and should be available in stores around May 2013. A fourth expansion, Vengeance, has been announced for October 2013. There are also a number of single deck mini expansions, all of which were initially made as bonuses for the various Kickstarters and which will be available for separate purchase.

Many of these were introduced in the most recent Kickstarter project and are not yet listed in the online store so I would recommend taking a look in the Kickstarter page for the details of what is coming down the pipeline:

Oh, and there have also been a number of single promo cards that change the innate powers of the core heroes from the base game. Although these were given out as Kickstarter bonuses >G have made the graphics freely available on the web.

Great!! Thanks everyone for the information. I can't wait to get my hands on the expansions. We took down all the core set bosses yesterday on "regular" mode. We are going to try and beat all the bosses on "advanced" mode this week. It's very hard to find the expansions here in the US. Here in Florida, my lgs only had 1 copy of the game which I picked up. No other store in South Florida has a copy of the game at all. (I drove to all of them) It's unfortunate that I won't be able to get my hands on the kickstarters. Can't wait to see the expansion heroes and villans. :0)

Thanks,

Barby

@Barby007

Stores in your area should be able to get ahold of the game in the next 2-3 weeks. We've got a big backlog of orders from distributors that we are going to be fulfilling this week when we get more product in. You can definitely ask your local gaming store about carrying the game, as they should be able to get ahold of it soon.

How do I pledge? or is the pledge over?

The Shattered Timelines Kickstarter is over.

Promo cards you can print off from BGG since >G supplies the image. (Young Legacy, Rook City Wraith, Reedemer Fanatic, etc.)

Mini-expansions like Unity, Abusacde, Scholar, Assisstant and Wasteland could be purchased through the Sentinels Website. May for the later 3.

Barby007,

Things you can buy now:

Rook City (Provides 2 heroes [Expatriette and Mr Fixer], two environments [Pike Industrial Complex and Rook City] and 4 villains [Plague Rat, Spite, The Matriarch and the Chairman]). The theme is basically street level effects in Gotham, I mean Rook City.

Infernal Relics (Provides 2 heroes [The Argent Adept and NightMist], two environments [Realms of Discord and Tomb of Anubis] and 4 villains [Akash'bhuta, Apostate, The Ennead and GloomWeaver]). The theme is magic.

Unity mini expansion (Provides 1 hero, Unity)

Ambuscade mini expansion (Provides 1 villain, Ambuscade)

Things you can buy when Shattered Timelines is available in May:

Shattered Timelines (Provides 2 heroes [Chrono-Ranger and Omnitron-X], two environments [Time Cataclysm and The Block] and 4 villains [Iron Legacy, Kismet, The Dreamer and La Capitan])

The Scholar mini expansion (Provides 1 hero, The Scholar)

The Assistant min expansion (Provides 1 villain, the Assistant)

Silver Gulch, 1883 min expansion (Provides one environment, Silver Gulch, 1883)

The Final Wasteland mini expansion (Provides one environment, The Final Wasteland)

Things you can buy in October when Vengeance is available:

Vengeance (Provides 5 heroes [Unnamed at present], 2 environments [unnamed at present] and 5 villains [Probably Ermine, FrightTrain, Proletariot, Friction and one unnamed {and which I personally think is the Vengeful 5}])

I think Infernal Relics is a better buy than Rook City, although both are good, but the IR heroes are definitely more complex than most. The villains are, however, slightly easier being mostly on a par with Citizen Dawn and Voss whereas Rook City contains the only two level 4 villains released so far (The Matriarch and the Chairman), so it depends on what theme you're looking for as much as anything. The Unity mini-expansion is probably more useful than Ambuscade and she is definitely a fan favourite character. But buy it all. You now you want to.

Can't talk in detail about Shattered Timelines but it will be very much worth it when it comes out in May.

The 5th villain for Vengeance is most likely Baron Blade as he's the leader of the Vengeful Five.

I suspect it's not as >G seem to prefer changing the character card over the deck. Now, we might get a new Blade character card in Vengenace but I'm not sure about a new deck. This is all baseless speculation, though.

I think the new Baron Blade deck will be another point in time than his regular deck. His regular deck is when we works alone, though he has minions, the new deck would when he works as part of a team.

Yes, I'm hoping to see an all new Baron Blade deck. With the new costume and being part of a team now, I feel like his old deck is obselete with his minions and MDPs. I'm hoping he'll have a new deck with lots of gadgets he uses to fight the heroes.

Awesome! Totally excited. By the way, I will buying everything. If anyone has extra kickstarter stuff, I would highly appreciate it. I'm even willing to buy. This game has become my favorite game in a very short time. I play Warmachine, Hordes, Warhammer 40k, Heroclix, Wow online and tcg, Magic, X Wing, etc and this is by far my favorite. Its nice to see such a great board/card game. I just wish they had a bundle by now. Like the core set with 2 expansions for 1 price. Some ideas came to mind.

1. Hero and villain card sleeves.

2. Life counters in order to track player and villan life (dice, etc)

3.  Organized case that can fit up to 5 expansions.

4. As mentioned before, bundles.

Again these are just some ideas that i feel will not only nake the game better but also more fun and more attractive.

Barby,

Did you get the original original in the small square box or the Enhanced Edition in the much deeper box? If you got the former, I'd really recommend upgrading to the Enhanced Edition. It contains a lot of hit point trackers as well as some status effects apart from smoothing the game play and making the villains scale better.

Yes, i got the enhanced edition. Are the expansions enhanced as well?

There is no enhanced expansion, Rook City and Infernal Relic each contain 2 new heroes, 4 new villans and 2 new environments.

The enhanced box contains dividers for Rook City and Infernal Relic.
