Whelp, just did 11 different sources of damage with one power with Omnitron-X tonight. Thanks to a +2 from Legacy and +1 from Chrono Ranger, that's 44 damage to advanced La Capitan's face. Think I've seen enough crazy hijinx for tonight...
By the way, yes, it did include Fixed Point.
And I'm guessing Defensive Blast and a few platings as well? ;)
Yeah, one of each plating and Defensive Blast. Not enough platings in the deck to do it reliably, though.
Sorry, I'm not getting the 11 instances of damage, will you elaborate?
Having all 3 different platings out, would reduce all 11 types of damage by 2. This Defensive Blast would do 11 instances of damage as it would (without buffs) be 1 melee, 1 projectile, 1 toxic, 1 fire, 1 energy, 1 cold, 1 lightning, 1 sonic, 1 psychic, 1 infernal, and 1 radiant damage to all target.
I thought the platings bounced to your hand when you played another one. Wouldnt fixed point not apply?
Fixed Point makes all other cards other than itself indestructible. Indestructible includes being removed from play, thus playing a second plating would attempt to move the first plating from play back into hand, but as it is indestructible it wouldn't be able to.
Ronway, is that official? So would the same be applied for, say, Fixer and his tools? I can see a beautiful combo forming here...
Look at the rule book and the glossary for Indestructible. Yes it would work perfectly well with Fixer and his tools and styles.
I always play it as going to hand isn't the same as destroying so bounce still happens when fixed point is out.
Edit: Although, given what a fixed point is I guess nothing should really leave play... I'm going to start playing it the Ronway (sorry for the pun, had to do it).
Good to hear it! After all there is no way like the Ronway!
ChocolatChip, I assumed it was the same until I had to look it up when dealing with Tempest's Into the Stratosphere vs. Spite's drugs.
Woooo thansk Ronway! I'm guessing this also applies to Spite's drugs -___- Guess I've been playing it wrong. Oh well. Thanks!
I was about to say that I'd treat Spite's drugs differently, but then I thought about how that interaction would take place. Tempest would hit Spite so hard that one of the drugs in his system wouldn't have any effect? Even though this is fairly funny to think about I don't think it would work. Yeah, I'm going to start treating Spite's drugs the same way I treat everything with fixed point.
The official ruling is in line with the Ronway.
The only difference with Spite's Drug cards is that if they are discarded from the top of the deck, they are put into play. Normal Indestructible cards do not have this feature (Have fun Timeshifting Iron Legacy's Galvanized cards, O-X!).
