Omnitron X vs. The Matriarch

I had a rather close and interesting game of sentinels today.

The team was Unity, Bunker, The Scholar, Omnitron X, and Ra vs. The Matriarch in Megalopolis.  The game started out in our control thanks to Unity getting out an early stealth bot to deal with most of The Matriarch's fowls, and Huginn and Muninn being buried deep in The Matriarch's deck.  Every hero that had damage reduction available to them had it out, so we ignored the fowls to focus on The Matriarch.  This turned out to be a dire mistake, as Huginn and Muninn made their way into play just as the environment played cramped quarters combat.  The increased damage from the fowls allowed them to tear apart stealth bot and caused both Unity and Ra to fall.  The rest of the team managed to whittle away Huginn and Muninn (thanks in part to me completely forgetting to have Huginn destroy hero equipment/ongoing each round...) just after The Matriarch finished going through her deck and flipped.

With The Matriarch flipped and Huginn and Muninn taken care of, the team was able to take out all of the fowls using The Scholar's Expect the Worst and the rest of the teams damage reduction to eat through all of The Matriarch's damage.  Bunker continued to charge his Omni Cannon (which was beginning to look like our only hope for victory) as the rest of the team brought The Matriarch down to about half health...Just in time for The Matriarch to play Darken The Sky and bring all 15 of her fowl cards into play and healing to full hp.

With all 15 fowl cards and 2 Carrion Fields in play, all hope seemed lost.  That is, until Omnitron X played Reactive Plating Subroutine along with Ablative Coating and became the highest HP target.  The Scholar played Get Out Of The Way, killing all 15 fowls and causing both Carrion Fields to deal 2 (Rooftop Combat was in play) toxic damage to Omnitron X 15 times each.  The damage, which was completely reduced by Omnitron X's Ablative Coating, allowed him to deal 3 toxic damage to The Matriarch 30 times for a total of 90 damage!

All heroes rejoiced (except for Bunker who did not get to fire his Omni Cannon charged with more than half of his deck).

A couple errors I may or may not see in this game sadly.

First possible one being Muninn being out doesn't increase the Fowls damage, only the Matriarch. Couldn't quite tell if you were applying that or not.

The second is, Omnitron-X has to at least take 1 point of damage for Reactive Plating Subroutine. So attacks have to essentially be 3 damage or higher to trigger it.

Otherwise sounds like it was a pretty intense game!

The only thing increasing the fowls damage was the environment, the card just came out around when both Huginn and Muninn were played.  Looks like we did play Omnitron's Reactive Plating Subroutine wrong though as the Carrion Fields only had a +1 from Rooftop Combat at the point we destroyed all the birds.  I guess we got a little to excited at the prospect of finishing The Matriarch in one shot.

I played Reactive Plating wrong for a good long while too. You are not alone!
