The small room at Gamerz (You can see that it's set up for miniatures gaming). The big room has something like 16 tables in it, mostly used for Magic tournaments)
What actually is a "FLGS"? I've only ever seen the term mentioned on this forum and I gather from context that it probably stands for "freelance gaming store" or something, but I don't recall ever seeing anyone ever actually spell it out.
The hobby store I work at (Gatekeeper Hobbies in Topeka, KS) sells Sentinels of the Multiverse products. The only time we've ever played a game there was when I brought my copy for International Tabletop Gaming Day. That being said, I often plug the game on my shifts and have played it after hours with friends on multiple occasions!
I'll try to snap some pictures next time we play SotM there!
My FLGS is Armored Gopher Games in Urbana, IL. They include SotM among many other fine products, and the owner knows both of my kids (ages 8 and 4) by name. He's an awesome dude, and they even started carrying the playmats after seeing them at GenCon.
It's fairly common for me to see somebody having at least purchased a SotM product during his monthly "Dammit, I bought this game and I'm gonna play it" events. Such an event was where I played it for the first time, and the gentleman whose copy we played later loaned me his 1st edition printing so that I could figure out whether it was over the Grasshopper's head (it wasn't).
The Grasshopper is even more addicted to trying new heroes/villains/environments than I am. When we're playing with newer players (which is often), I try to steer him toward people whose turns don't need lots of explaining to the other players, which often results in whining about not being able to try Setback, the Scholar, or the Argent Adept (all of whom were requested today before finally letting him use Fixer for the first time that deck has been used).
Local Gaming Stores in Sydney that sell SotM are Games Paradise (Pitt St) and Good Games (various locations). I don't think either of them run games of it, though.
Oh no, there was that one time that GG tried to run Sentinels at a Magic tournament. That was... interesting.
Not to toot my own horn or anything, but if you want Sentinels in Sydney, try the UTS Electronic Gamers' Guild.
Funny thing is, the FLGS in my hometown that sells SotM doesn't really do any open gaming, and the one that does tons of open gaming, doesn't have SotM!
Oh, and then there is the third store, which does neither.
