Pillars of Herc + Electro-Pulse Explosive = TPK?

Hi All,

I just want to make sure we played this right. This afternoon we were fighting Omnitron in Atlantis and The Pillars of Hercules came out "...at the start of every turn play the top card of the villain deck." So at the start of the villain turn we played the top card and it was the dreaded Electro-Pulse Explosive which says "At the start of the villain turn, this card deals each hero target x lightning damage, where x = the current hp of this card (starting hp =15).

So we reasoned because it was still the start of the villain turn it immediately did everyone 15 damage, which resulted in a total party kill. Did we play that right or do cards not play their effects the same instant when come into play in these cases? We were letting the drones that came into play at the end of the villian turn use their end of turn powers as well. Let me know if we are messing this up.

Thanks,

Bill

You played it correctly.  Incidentally, this is also why Sub-zero Atmosphere is a very risky play against Omnitron.

I've had that happen to me with the electro-pulse as well.

Yep, same combo killed us...to be honest, it seems like omintrons only chance so I can't complain about it...that robot gets kicked around enough
