Like milk, I'm also for A&D
*snort*
Im sorry guys. I was involved in playtesting for some of these games and some of them called them Knacks.
Its STUNTS in the current eddition. STUNTS.
Oops.
I think if we are having it here a Sentinels themed game would be the best.
Next question to pose:
play as established Sentinels of the Multiverse, our own brand of Heroes, or little guys in the Sentiels world, working behind the scenes and around the world as the Supers battle it out above...
IE: Do you want to play as legacy and wraith?
Or do you want to play as the special forces team sent in by the government to rescue some people while the Supers are battling Voss in the skies. Or just some semi ordinary joes on the ground who deal with the during/aftermath of the fights of supers?
Or do you want to play as our own Heroes?
Setback or Expat would be fun to play, but I'd rather not do a major storyline, I think a Rook City adventure could be cool, maybe Expat and Fixer are off fighting big bad guys and some others have to step up and deal with the villainy and scum.
I'd rather not play existing heroes, making our own characters would be much more fun!
Ah, STUNTS! I know those.
How's about making the team a bunch of F.I.L.T.E.R. agents, which may or may not include KNYFE among them?
Hmm. We don't know much about FILTER, do we?
I don't want to play a pre-existing character - I would prefer to stay away from already-established stuff and have us create our own thing. I'd like to play as a superhero of some kind (a "proper" one, with powers, as opposed to someone like Mr Fixer who just hits stuff, albeit in a manner of different, and literally stylish, ways)…but hey, it's a Multiverse, right? So we can be in a universe where all the heroes of the card game don't actually exist, but we exist instead (and we can just Handwave the whole Fixed Point thing by having none of us know about it or something ;))…or if you want to have existing characters show up as NPCs or something then they can be our universe's alternate versions so it's okay if they don't completely match up to the established versions of themselves :).
Perhaps people could suggest their character concepts (either on this thread, or in private to the GM), and the GM can put together some kind of storyline from that, or if everyone has greatly-varying ideas on what they want to do, try and pinpoint some kind of setting that will keep everyone happy :).
Are we gonna be using RPOL or Obsidian Portal or something or is all necessary info pertaining to the game (as well as the game itself) gonna be posted on here?
I'd prefer to play our own superheroes, with the Sentinels in the background - even without Multiversal possibility, we could quite easily be in another part of America or the world from the 'canon' stuff.
As for the where, here is good, though I wouldn't object to using something else.
Would we want the existing characters to exist, but not play them?
We could have some interaction with heroes or villains from the game.
For example I'd love to run into some of the mini-nemesis or run into the organization on a much lower level than Chairman Pike or the Operative would deem worthy of involvement. But if others would rather play in a totally different world I can go with that.
As for characters if we are going powers but not really powerful I have several ideas for powers:
1. Premonitions: viewing the future, but vaguely and like 5-10 minutes before hand, can activate power and get some random stuff, but more valuable are random visions, again like 5-10 min. into the future.
2. Slight of Hand: Like epic slight of hand, and some Houdini like stuff with more effort, only not tricks.
3. Roach Man: can communicate and control cockroaches to a certain extent. (this is my wife's favorite)
just a few to get the discussion going
I'd love to participate in an RPG with this group, but I don't think I can do forum play. Outside of the weekend, the only time I'm on the forums at the same time as everyone else is when I'm at work. I'd totally be up for a once a week Google plus session or something though if anyone wants to do something like that in the future.
Oh yeah, G+ games sound good to me too (I'm up for forum stuff as well, I'll take anything). I had a great time playing Fiasco like that!
With two kids and two jobs, I can't make G+ work.
This is totally why I have neither kids nor a job!
A live G+ game is one I am interested in but if you are full I take a back seat as I previously stated I did not want in on the PbF game.
We should do both, if there's someone willing to run a G+ one.
I can't G+ unless it is at very specific times, so it isn't likely I could do that. I'd be pbf.
I'd offer to run G+, but my GM skills are sorely lacking.
Erm...wait, a live game? Um, probably not too likely to be able to make that. Better to have it forum-based so we don't all have to be online at the same time for a specific period of time and can just check in and post once or twice a day (or more, if it happens that everyone somehow manages to be online at the same time on any evenings ;)). I think trying to run something like this live would just be horrendous, especially with all the different timezones and stuff - we'd all have to make sure we were online at the same time on certains for however many weeks/months/years this game ends up lasting. Live games are better at tabletop, I think.
I play in a Skype RPG every week, with people from all over the world; it's not difficult to organise, you just have to want to play.
Is it worse than live gaming? No.
Is it different than live gaming? Yes.
Am I advocating that this FATE game become a G+ game? No, play how is best for the group (of which I am not a part)
