"Play this card next to a hero character card... At the end of that hero's turn, either fanatic deals them 2 radiant damage or destroy this card"
I'm under the impression that embolden only deals 2 radiant damage to the hero character card that it is attached to but it seems the word "them" suggests that there may be an instance (that I don't know about) where it can deal 2 radiant damage to more than one hero? In that case, should the "them" be a "him or her or it"?
I believe they use "them" to avoid pronouns since it could be a male or a female. if the card was intended to hurt the hero as well as fanatic, it would be worded using the word "both"
Speaking about Embolden, what happens if it is played on Wraith and she has Combat Stance out (or Ra with Flame Barrier)? When Fanatic deals Wratih 2 radiant damage does Wratih HAVE TO deal fanatic 2 melee damage? Can the player opt out of this kind of thing or is it just a bad idea to Embolden someone with a counter attack?
I was wondering if you played Embolden on someone like Legacy who has Fortitude in play. Would Embolden be lost because Fanatic could only deal 1 damage to Legacy?
If damage needs to be dealt to someone in order to keep a card in play (eg Embolden, Pushing the Limits, Solar Flare), it doesn't matter how much damage they end up taking, just as long as they take some damage - if their hp doesn't go down, they didn't take damage, so therefore the only remaining option is for the card to be destroyed.
