Scholar of the infinite

Finally unlocked it on the video game and I like him more than I believed I would I just love how he opens up options with the scholar. To be fair I pretty much never use better living on the original because to my play style both other powers in his deck are just better in part because I feel cards in hand are scholar's lifeblood. Thus the two extra hp are a direct upgrade. But those two hp really make a difference they allow scholar to only be surpassed in max hp by Haka, Skyscraper and Legacy. That makes a little difference in a highest hp tank situation wich already was a scholar strong suit. Furthermore those extra hp also give an even better leeway to abuse mortal to energy hp yoyo damaging mechanics. Considering you are willing to go as low in hp as the original the extra two hp give an extra 2 healing potential and under the right circumstances those may give up to 6 extra damage (looking at you matriarch against get out of the way).

Then you also get to interact slightly differently with some cards. Know when to turn loose is of course the most evident one doubling up damage potential on a finisher is never a bad thing. Of course, if your abusing the main power it may become a good idea to keep a flesh to iron around to lessen the self hurt. But the one i had not thought of was Expect the Worse, suddenly if for some reason you discarded loads of card in the round before your turn it allows you to make you impervious to your side of the deal turning a 3-6 dmg from an exchange of blows to a direct blow on the ennemy without side effects really shines. Thanks for your patience in reading me and I'll happily read what you guys might have thought that I did not.

I was wondering if this changed anyone strategy any.    I still feel that I end up using Bring What You Need or Truth Seeker given the option over either his normal or variant base power.

The last strategy of using expect the worst can be useful in the following situations (this is only what I could think of, feel free to add more): If Progeny has one or multiple Scion of Blights out, Wagner Mars Base and it's many cards that have discarding as a cost, anything that gives you an extra play so you can combo Know When to Turn Loose and Expect the Worst, Omnitron IV's Overcharged Systems which allows you to discard as many cards as you wish.

This Scholar could also be great with Prime Wardens Haka right before him. If you plan on doing a really powerful attack, you can have PW Haka give you a Haka of Shielding to prevent you from hitting yourself.

Legacy's interception would fit the bill better, and of course out ofturn card play still make that scholar a beast.

I find "Truthseeker" preferable as well, but it's a lot easier to get out "Flesh to Iron" and use Channel than it is to dig out Truthseeker.
