I received my Enhanced Edition yesterday, knocked out my first two solo plays last night, and am now salivating at the prospect of playing Sentinels with other equally enthusiastic dudes (or dudesses) in the greater Madison area.
I sporadically attend the Saturday gaming sessions at Pegasus Games in Madison and second Saturday gaming sessions at I'm Board in Middleton. I've also been known to check out Labyrinth Games in Baraboo while waiting for my clothes to dry at the laundomat. I would be down for some weekend appointment gaming at any of those locations, and will likely be attending the Gaming Hoopla in Janesville Saturday, Sept. 29.
I've seen posts of people mentioning Madison game shops and conventions before, so I know there are other Madisonians out there. Drop me a line and we'll get our game on. (I call Haka, by the way!)
Actually just found out that the husband of the office coordinator at work also ordered Sentinels and got it yesterday. There's a good possibility that we'll team up in the near future.
I'm thinking of talking to the owner of my LGS about running a demo day. Last time I went there there were multiple games of MTG and the Resident Evil deck-building game going on so I imagine there'd be a built-in audience.
(Haka was the man against Ambuscade - and that was without Savage Mana or any of his other more interesting cards coming into play. I think's his joyful expression on many of the cards that make me such a fan. Or maybe it's the Hippopotoman.)
I'll have to check that out. Played an epic solo game of Haka, Tachyon, and Visionary versus Ambuscade in Megaopolis last night, which has only further fed my desire to get the game in front of other gamers. I'll keep you all in the loop about any possible progress on that front.
On a tangentially related note, I just preregistered for the Gaming Hoopla in Janesville Saturday, Sept. 29. I'll be there all day with my Enhanced Edition in hand trying to find other Sentinels fans to play with. Janesville is about two hours north of Chicago in case there are any Illinois folks interested in what looks like a packed event: www.gaminghoopla.com. Drop me a line if you're planning on attending and we can get our game on.
By the way, Janesville is a mere five-and-a-half hours away from St. Louis, for those who are (hopefully) curious.
