An event came up that hadn't for a while, and with recent discussions I looked at it in a new light.
Cause and Effect + Wrong Place and Time.
Setback has a ton of unlucky, and no bonus damage. So he deals the damage to the 1 target, then when he deals it to himself he discards all his tokens to redirect it.
Is he redirecting 0 damage now?
He is, because X would recheck for the new target and find that the amount being dealt is 0. Right?
I want that to work, that you could use this combo do deal lots of damage to the villians, but I think that you are correct and that it would deal no damage.
I haven't played Setback much--I think just once. But I'm not following how you're getting 0 damage redirected.
Cause and Effect does X damage to both the target and Setback. Assuming it's the first time this turn a hero target would be dealt damage, Wrong Time and Place activates. If Setback spends the tokens to redirect that damage to a villain target, how does it get reduced to 0 damage redirected?
