Okay, so she never technically got the "Champion" title, but she did embarass the crap out of Kaargra Warfang this weekend. ;)
First round, we had that title card that makes it so that whenever you do damage to a target, the next damage that hits that target is increased by 2. After a uick Galvanize turn by Legacy, Skyscraper started out strong with a Tectonic Chokeslam (favorite card name ever), dealing TONS of damage to pretty much everyone. She then clapped, dealing even more damage to just about everyone. She easily got the title card and won us a ton of points (6, if I recall correctly) in one turn.
After that, it was just kinda mop-up. Kaargra flipped twice thanks to "Get Back In There", but we took her down without much fuss, and the Canister took care of her minions, especially once she went Tiny and started picking them up to be placed back down again. Twice she placed a Link on Kaargra that made her discard the top card of her deck, and both discards were Fickle Fans. Once the second FF was in the Trash, we knew we could go for broke.
Meanwhile, KNYFE was doing insane damage, and Ra was keeping the heroes from being hurt by the gladiator who does fire damage that keeps the target from doing damage for a turn. We got out to an early lead, and it never felt in jeopardy. When it was, KNYFE or Skyscraper would just kick into high gear and get our comfortable lead back.
I've always enjoyed Skyscraper, but I've always kinda seen her as a one-size-or-the-other character, wherein I play her based entirely on what role I want her to take. This time, I played to the cards I had, and it was a ton of fun. It felt a little like a Chrono-Ranger placing bounties that allowed him to drop tach-nukes on the battlefield.
So much fun.
