Story Mode

Hi all,

I am a long time player and lurker of the forums. Recently my friends and I decided to put together a story mode of sorts for the game and tried to outline major story archs and moments and recreating them through the available heros, villains and environments. We have a prototype story line and story mode assembled in an excel sheet in the link below (opens and looks best in Excel). The document reaches about as far as Shattered timeline events.

I am looking for feedback, ideas and suggested battles or events that belong in the timeline. I know some of you are real savants of the narrative that we have been able to piece together thus far. All feedback is welcome and thanks in advance!

It looks super cool! I like this, gives me a purpose to go play more games, and not just random all the time.

I don't have any feedback for story related changes, or updates, as I am not as big an expert as the other fans, but I can make some recommendations to make the document easier to read.

1) Have you thought of using the flowchart option? You can make it have different paths, colors, and styles to represent timelines, and parallel stories

2) Add a legend to show what the colors represent

3) Have you considered "prettying" it up with nemesis icons, and text?

Here are some questions about the timeline

1) Have there been any battles that the heroes lost? Are they there?

Overall, I love this. It's really neat, and I can't wait to try it on my own!

If you need help with anything, keep me posted, and I can help spruce up the document if you want!

Vengeance in the Mars Base, right? Ra also loses to the Ennead at some point.

I don't know that the heroes lost, though Legacy does die – and Ra loses to the Ennead, but it's mentioned that he does so by taking them on single-handedly, which doesn't work for the game.

I wasn't sure if they did or didn't, my knowledge isn't perfect. If we can do some sleulthing maybe we can add those too?

If its anything like comics they probably lose in the first few meetings with the villain before rallying and winning in the end. What would you consider a hero loss?

Like, the heroes fail at stopping an event, and a new team comes in, or heroes die. Knowing lots about comics, the heroes also tend to win "in the end".

I was just curious if those battles were docemented. If not, then no need to add them! I don't want to derail this thread from XtremeGuardian's awesome project.  I wouldn't mind having another thread about "losses" unless it came help out the document.

Sorry to cut it short.

Thanks for the ideas and the offers to help. I will need to look into the flow chart option and including the icons would make it look awesome.

Once I outline some more of the story, I would love some help with the presentation!

Cool idea.

Notices some mistakes -- the descriptions for the Omnitron and Matriarch  battles are reversed, for instance -- but in general I enjoyed the story I was reading.
