Supply and Demand Benchmark Unlock Discussion

He probably also needs to be the only one with ongoings out if that's the case, and now that I think about it , it's more likely than "destroy x peices of crap."

Well, let's cross-reference some of these theories with the data we have from existing unlock logs (so we might be able to avoid some wild goose chases).

Theory: We might need to blow-up a bunch of our own equipment cards, given that intuitively one might suspect this happened organically within an Expat game because of ammunition.

Well, let's check Nyx's log:

https://pastebin.com/KzWnyNEy

He played exactly 1 ammo card (LN Rounds) and didn't even expend it. It was destroyed by a villain effect.

So, while the reasoning behind this theory is good, it doesn't match the data.

Theory: Each hero needs to destroy an equipment or device card.

Again, check the log. Expat literally killed nothing. Her best effort was bringing an Impulsion Beam down to 1 HP.

Theory: We need to play more software than hardware.

This does seem to match the unlock logs (Nyx had a 2:1 ratio in favor of hardware), but seems to be contradicted by many failure logs where people had extremely high hardware to software ratios. It's possible that this is a requiremenet, but by itself clearly is not sufficient.

From the steam forums.

Well if anyone is interested im going to run some online plays of my prereq game later today around 2:15pm est. Maybe I can spread my dumb luck to one of you guys. Also side benefit I can give you the spread the infection achievement

My discord is Sherlock Gnomes/ Mark #3841
Coordinate with me there.

An idea for those able to analyze logs...

Could it have something to do with # of equipments played in a turn/round?

Another thought: Bench, Omni, and Expat can search their decks for equipments. Something to consider?

@TheRebelYell I'm interested. Just sent a friend request on Discord. Can play between 2 and 3 PM np.

So the steam forums thought it was a matter of blowing up 5 or more devices and playing 10 or more equipment so I figured giving an alternate team a shot would be a decent idea.  No unlock.  https://pastebin.com/gRXL1gSq

Just finished a game with Legacy, Wraith, FS Parse, Setback, and Benchmark against the usual villains.  I had 10 equipments in play at the end of the game and 15 has entered play total.  Only Legacy and Benchmark were standing at the end.  No unlock in the follow up against Blade in Megalopolis.

So if you do have to have X equipment in play, you either need something else with it or X > 10.

And for completeness, I had all 9 hardware plus Legacy Ring in play at the end of the pre req.

Having done a number of sessions with alternative team compositions, playing to achieve very similar if not identical goals, I'm reasonably confident of the following (having now achieved the pre-req and scored my unlock):

 - Your team MUST have Benchmark, Parse, Setback & Expat on it.
 - You must have at least 10 equipment in play at the end of the game.

 - You must destroy at least 5 devices. This may or may not be an absolute number too; to be safe, immediately bring the fight to a close after killing the 5th device.

These are almost certainly requirements, but may not be sufficient by themselves. If there are additional requirements, they're hard to detect amidst the noise of the game you'll be needing to play in order to satisfy the above.

I tried an equipment-happy Villains game using Omni-X, Setback, FS Parse, F5 Wraith, and Sky-Scraper vs. the team from the one-shot last week (Plague Rat, Blade, Friction, Fright Train, and Ambuscade.) Had 11 equipments in play at the end of the game, at least 15 played throughout the game (cycling in Omni-X platings, mostly). Only a couple were destroyed. Only four devices entered play; all were destroyed by Plague Rat or themselves.

Then I tried the Blade/Megalopolis/FS Parse/Setback/Benchmark setup. Nothing happened.

iOS, so no log.

I just got it using this method.  I also KO'd setback and parse for good measure.

Incidentally, I ended up with a game that had *nine* equipment cards in play at the end, and five devices destroyed. No unlock.

I wasn't trying to test that or anything, I just couldn't actually live another turn to get the Inferno Missile Pod in play.

I just unlocked on IOS, so no log, but here's what I can share:
pre-req game:

Villains (in order)
Train, Blade, Friction, Ambuscade, Rat

Heroes: (in order)
FS Parse, Expat, Setback, SS Ra, Benchmark

Environment: temple of zhu long

Five Devices Destroyed: Impulsion Beam x2, Teleporter, Stolen Tech, Shock Dampener

13 equipment cards played. Of that number was a piece of ammo played, reloaded and played again, everything else was unique. Two were fished out by plays of Deployment Actuation. One was fished out with Arsenal Access.

At the end of the match only parse was incap, but silver lining did trigger for setback. Benchmark ko'd two villains: train using countermeasures, and blade (who was the last villain to go down) with his innate power.

for the unlock match:
Baron blade in megalopolis. I brought benchmark, tach, wraith, xpat, stuntman. Unlock happened on first equipment card play of the turn (benchmark hardware)
I too just unlocked on my phone, so no log, but here's what I can share:
pre-req game:

Villains (in order)
Train, Rat, Friction, Ambuscade, Blade

Heroes: (in order)
Benchmark (11hp), Omintron (incap), Expat (incap), Normal Parse (incap), Setback (incap)

Environment: Enclave of the Endlings

Five+ Devices Destroyed: Game lasted a while and many devices ended up being destroyed but certainly more than 5

At the end it was only benchmark up and he had all 9 of his hardware equipment. I also finished blade right before unloading with a brutal barage of 7  3 projectile damage inferno missles so I had many cards in Benchmarks play area and nine were equipment

The game was out of hand until omni incapped. Then I had the villians in a choke hold because benchmark with most of his build active plus a -1 damage from omnitron's incap ability is really pretty much a game that is undercontrol. I really recommend using omnitron to help get the unlock, early game it can survive well and help benchmark get fully operational. Late game the -1 damage give benchmark enough survival for the inevitable win.

for the unlock match:
Baron blade in megalopolis. I brought benchmark, parse setback. Unlock happened on first equipment card play of the turn (benchmark hardware)

We are getting close... I wonder if expat is really necessary or simply handy and I wonder if it must be against all five of those villians.

Big note. I am on IOS, so do not have logs.

Game one- the expected. FS Parse, SS Ra, Expatriette, Benchmark, Setback, against Revcorp five on The Block.

Went remarkably well, killed all but baron with all up.

suicide killed Parse and Setback (Ra died in the process.)

had ten equipment, killed five devices with benchmark.

Baron died to self-damage at end of turn.

Here's the big break.

game two. Versus Baron Blade at Metropolis. Benchmark, Parse, Expatriette, and Setback.

didn't draw a hardware for Benchmark turn one. Uneventful.

DROPPED ASSAULT RIFLE ON EXPATRIETTES TURN. UNLOCK GET.

THUS- my hypothesis.

Prereq- Game one- Using Benchmark, Expatriette, Setback, and Fugue Parse, defeat Fright Train, Friction, Baron Blade, Ambuscade, and Plague Rat. At least five devices must be destroyed during the game, ten equipment cards must be in play at the end of the game, Benchmark and Expatriette must not be incapacitated, and Parse and Setback must be incapacitated. Then, play an equipment card against Baron Blade in Megalopolis.

Thoughts?

Sorry, reread some old comments. Expatriette doesn't need to survive the prereq, and only nine equipments must enter play.

The Steam thread has some more info figured out.  The second game doesn't seem to matter at all except that Benchmark has to be in it, then play any Equipment.  They've also found that some equipment can be destroyed.  The current theory is that 10 equipment needs to enter play, 5 devices need to be destroyed (possibly: all devices that enter play must be destroyed), and the heroes and villains we've already been working with.

Edit: After experimenting with many, many combinations of leaving various villains out, I finally got the unlock by doing exactly what everyone else is doing.  Maybe less than that is necessary, but it is sufficient.  However, I can confirm that the second game doesn't even need to have Benchmark.  Just start a game and play an equipment card.

in my last “no unlock” only 4 devices entered play and I definitely destroyed them all.  So it can’t just be “destroy all that enter play”. I’m sure you have to at least get 5.

Just got it on iOS. Benchmark was the only survivor in the team game (Benchmark / Omni-X / FS Parse / Setback / Expat) and had four equipments out at the end. Plenty of equips entered play among Benchy, Expat, and Omni-X, partially because I used Omni-IV and we saw two Resource Recyclers.

I did NOT destroy every villain device that entered play - Blade went down with Omni-Blade and a Displacing Teleporter still in play, and two Omni-IV targets were alive at the end as well. But there were definitely 5+ destroyed.

Afterward, I hit random and played an equipment card to get the unlock.

https://pastebin.com/hV2gvgXt Welp. Figured I'd take the Sentinels for stalling power (via Durasteel Chains and Human Shield) and try out someone other than Ambuscade. Went with Operative instead. Stalled for a bit to play more cards, but work was starting and I didn't want the game to generate an incomplete log, success or fail. Ended up getting SaD Benchmark on my phone after this.
