Synaptic Interruption is not limited. So you can have out all three at once. What then happens if Tachyon is dealt 3 or more damage?
A. One copy goes off, redirecting the damage where Tachyon pleases?
B. All copies go off, eventually redirecting the damage to only one target?
C. All copies go off, allowing Tachyon to redirect that damage three times?
I’m inclined to say B.
Well, I would like to think A, but B seems most likely.
I don’t have my cards with me, and nobody wrote the exact text. I’m going to guess how the text reads. “Whenever Tachyon would be dealt 3 or more damage, you may redirect that damage to a target.”
First, if that ‘may’ is in there, then you have the choice each time whether it goes off or not. But, even if it doesn’t say ‘may,’ three cards are trying to act at the same time, and, just like in all other cases, are processed by the order they are played. The first one played then redirects the damage to another target. At this time, Tachyon is no longer being dealt damage. The other two in play thus never activate. The answer would be A.
It came up last night, but now I do not have my cards with me. Whatever else it says, I’m quite certain that it does not say “may”.
Well there you have it, Jaymann’s reasoning has convinced me to sway in his favor of A now.
Also I looked at the card and there isn’t a “may” in there.
I agree with TheJayMann. He put my reasoning into words more succinctly and clearly then I could.
hmm… Yeah, I forgot about the “no cards can activate simultaneously” rule.
Also, that’s really convenient. A it is.
