I really like this game. With that I really want to make a format that can be shared in a "competitive" format to bring more players together.
here is what I have come up with.
4 player teams register for the events. The ideal turnout would be for four or more even numbered amount of teams to show up.
from there this is how it would run.
each team consists of three hero players and one villain moderator for the opposing team to make sure all triggers are taken care of.
the round starts by revealing which villain will appear for all teams to play against for the round. The the environment is revealed that the villain will stage his attack for all teams to play in. Then the teams make their individual choices for which heroes they will call forth to battle.
The round is scored by using the story rewards as bonus points as an achievement based format that supplements whether the heroes are successful in defeating the villain each round.
if a hero is knocked out during any game each round that hero is removed as an option for the rest of the event.
The event lasts four rounds and the players must all rotate each serving as a villain moderator at least once.
the "winning team" is the group that first defeated the most villains. If there is a tie then the team with the most story achievement points is determined the winner. If there is a tie again then the last tie breaker is the team that used the heroes who appeared the least across all teams (you get bonus points for using the under appreciated). Story achievement points can only be received once per event.
I think this captures the feeling of creating a "competitive" event while still keeping it lighthearted enough to allow the fun of the game to stay present.
