Thank God for T-rexes!

Lately, to make my solo games more interesting, I've been playing my matches with a backstory, a campaign of sorts. Regular fights, no additional objectives or rules (that may come later) but still, its a series. It was almost, almost, almost ruined tonight by a fight with Warlord Voss (I had decided that a loss would mean that the heroes I used would be incapacitated until the Final Battle-messing up the story).

I had three heroes, Legacy, Tempest, and Haka in that order, while Voss had out a Banshee, and a Lancer. We were in Insula Primalis, with two Obsidian Fields out (+1 to damage). In short order, he and his minions took down Legacy and Tempest, leaving Haka with only 3 health, while Voss himself still had about 38 HP. Haka had out a Dominion, and a Savage Mana with 9 cards underneath. I almost gave up then and there, but decided to go out with a bang. Using Tempest's and Legacy's incap abilities, I let Haka use Crush twice, killing the two minions to add to SM (now at 11 cards). On Haka's turn, I let loose a powerful Haka of Battle, throwing down 12 cards, and then finally hitting the Warlord with Savage Mana, for a total of....36 points.

Ouch. So close.

He still had 2HP, and he was definitely going to wipe the floor with me next round.

I figured, hell, let's play the next environment card. Might as well.

It.

Was.

Glorious.

That T-rex popped out like a gift from God, snatching up Voss in its jaws and gobbling him up.

...and now comes the, ah, painful part. The T-rex eats up the second highest target around, except itself. I played it that I totally did not include the T-rex in the ranking (so it ate Voss instead of Haka), but now I'm not so sure. Is the ranking supposed to be (15>3>2) or (3>2) What is the official ruling for this? Should Haka have been eaten, or did I play it right?

Either way, it was beautiful. And in the AAR I plan to write after I finish the campaign, I know which version I'm going with.

I think you played it right and got a great last minute win

Yeah, you definitely played it right.  When it says "other than itself", it means to completely exclude itself from consideration in the hp totals.

Thank you so much! I actually really got worried that I played it wrong. That was a beautiful game then. I'm still cheering :))
