This came up in the last game we'd played, and it's about how turn-based cards work
Nightmist had her Amulet of the Elder gods out, which has a "the first time Nightmist would be dealt damage each turn, you may discard 2 cards. if you do, you may redirect that damage to a target of your choice."
i could swear there's another example or so, but the question here is: does that mean during her turn, another hero's turn, enviroment's turn, and villain's turn are all subject to, if enough cards exist in her hand, to have all damage thrown around? or are turns(in this instance) given by environment/villain/hero?
Another example is that card of Fanatic's (might be Divine Focus but I might be getting my cards mixed up) which lets her discard to hit stuff at the start of every turn. So she can do it at the start of the villain's turn, the environment's turn, and each individual hero's turn, including her own.
Now, *most* hero turns, no one will be damaging Nightmist. But she can definitely redirect the first damage to her during the environment turn *and* the villain turn.
Of course, if she has lots of cards, and there are few enemy targets in play, she might just say, "Hey Haka, why don't you use Taiaha to hit the bad guy and ME; then I'll redirect my damage to the bad guy." Or similar tricks with other heroes who do multi-target damage.
EDIT: And of course, if anything damages her doing her own turn, she can redirect that. Including using her own base power: net effect, trade two (presumably non-awesome) cards for two new cards *and* do two points of damage!
