Vengeance picture from Kickstarter

Apologies if this has already been said before, but it is possible that the Vengeaful 5 may count just as one of the five villans in Vengeance?

I say this because in the Kickstarter photo that I am attaching I see four more above them. And of these new four, a couple of them have been seen and discussed before.

Am I crazy, or our friends from >G are pulling our legs big time here?

What you're seeing is [redacted]. [redacted] is [redacted], with [redacted]. But [redacted] can [redacted], [redacted] with the teddy bear.

?????

Pure speculation, but an Ennead-styled deck would be an interesting way to go.

I got another picture, and in this one you can see five guys at the top, instead of four. So are they maybe the five heroes?

It will be a surprise, as at least two of them (The Chinese guy with the blue sphere and the guy in the top right of the picture) apperared in Visionary and Nightmist  decks, and they looked pretty much as villans.

I think it's more likely that they'll be targets in the main characters' decks (most likely the new Blade deck), but who knows?

It does not make sense. In all the expansions the heroes appeared clearly in the box, and this looks pretty much as the one for Vengeance. So these five have to be the new five heroes. WTF???

[Redacted], while not [Redacted] about [Redacted][Redacted] is an interesting [Redacted].  I think we'll [Redacted] the [Redacted] glow [Redacted].

[Redacted], though I could be wrong.

The designers have said before that the art shown is not necessarily the final art for Vengeance, so I wouldn't get too hung up on it.

On previous expansions, the heroes have appeared fighting the villains, heroes on the left and villains on the right. On this expansion, all figures on the box stand together, presenting a united front. They look very much like they're all working together. Plus, like you say, several are people we thought were villains, and some of them ooze evil. This is, after all, the 'villain' expansion, so the villains really do take centre stage.

It was stated by Christopher (before a second environment was added to the game) that Vengeance would feature '7 or 11' decks, depending on how you counted. This does really strongly imply that the Vengeful Five are the only villains. Furthermore, as it has been stated on many occasions that Vengeance felt like a whole different game, it would be a little strange to then turn around and put normal villains into the expansion as well.

The whole point of Vengeance is that Blade is gathering together all these villains who have grudges against the heroes. Given Blade's MO (hiding away and forcing the heroes to fight their way to him), having a deck filled with minions would not be surprising. Plus, those people we think are villains have would-be nemeses who themselves already have nemeses, but they could be minion-nemeses, which we've seen happen before.

What you are saying makes sense, but more questions emerge. As for example: what would be the difference/s between these five at the top, and the four villains we already know (asuming each one of them has his/her own deck, as it seems)?

I guess time will solve the mistery. Maybe these five are sort of "Operatives", that is to say, targets with villain card, high HP, and powers/abilities but no deck of their own.

Or maybe we see something different, like mini-decks inside a deck (3-5 cards), something more independent than the Operative, whose actions were still linked to the Chairman's deck.

Also, I am wondering how we are going to put all those villains/cards/decks on the table!!! And what these positions will mean for the game.

I don't know, but is nice to consider the different possibilities.

I want in on the [REDACTED]. let me be a playtester!! pleeeaaase. I already have 120p card stock waiting.

Is it just me, or is Blade's face getting worse with time?

Sorry, the last chance to join in was during the GSF KS.

There will likely be more opportunities - I'm sure >G has more games in the pipeline, and they'll probably do KSers for those, also. Last time (Galactic Strike Force), they didn't include it directly in the KS due to some frustrations of managing it that way, but they did add the option to their online store during that period. It seems likely they'll do the same thing next time.

perhaps some of the background people are minions (aka villain targets within the deck) of the vengeful 5 (who are either one deck like the enhead or are 5 individual villain decks)

I'm exciting to see how Hippoman and the art on 1st Ed Savage Mana fits the story.

Our bet? They're all villains. None of them look like heroes, and that hippo-dude was seen getting elbow-smashed by Haka on the eponymous card. Plus, look at the released info on the four villains. A lame burglar lady who gets punked by Wraith, a lame speedster who has to beg her way onto Blade's team, a splitter whose power is pretty cool but unstable, and a big thug with a silly-looking helmet. These are controlled by Blade, those aren't the five set villains. There'll be more. We'd bet good money on it.

I'd take that bet, but organising gambling over the forums would be odd, and also I don't have money… I'd bet you fake money :stuck_out_tongue: They're all on the side of villainy, I agree, but I'd say that none of them are getting their own deck.

(Who's we, by the way? It's quite a novel cahnge, seeing someone typing in first person plural   )

I'll be willing to take that bet.
