Viscious cyclone question

Hey I was playing a game last night and ran into a question that isn't clear from just reading the cards.

 

Viscious Cyclone says that Tempest deals its target one projectile damage for each card you discard.

 

if you have a buffing effect in play (like Legacy's galvanize) and you discard three cards do you deal six projectile damage (one damage three times each time getting buffed by one) or do you deal four damage (three damage once gets buffed by one)?

It's a new 'source' of damage each time so you buff (and possibly reduce) each instance of damage, if you had Tempest's Gene-Bound Shackles in play that could be 3 damage per card discarded!

That is in fact exactly how I beat Warlord Voss in my second-ever game.  Shackles + Nemesis rule + no minions in play = 12 damage turn.
