Lets talk about the multiple conditions that wager master has that leads to the heros winning or losing. This has actually been leading me to a lot of confusion since sitting down and looking through Wager Master's deck last night and I want to iron out the rules before my next game night. Basically from what I understand from them is if there is one condition out and somehow you fullfil it like get all heroes health to be an even numer unless its their max hp, then you win or lose, even if you havent taken Wager Master to 0 hp. Is this a correct assumption?
Next what do we do if there are multiple conditions out for winning. Lets say A and B are two different cards that say heroes win. You somehow fullfill card A but not B. Does this mean that you win or do you have to have A and B happening at the same time to win.
For the heroes lose if something happens to me that falls into the situation if you have A and B saying heroes could lose if this happens then if either A or B happens then hero loses.
Now lets say there is a condition card out that says heroes win if blah. You take Wager Master to 0 hp but do not fullfill blah. Does this mean you win or is it like Omnitron and you have to keep going.
1. Yes, even if Wager Master is not at 0 you would win.
2. You still win, you have met one of the rules for the game to win, doesn't matter that you haven't met a second alternate rule.
3. You have met a rule that says you win, so you win!
They are not additional things you need to do to win, they are alternative ways you can win. Similarly if one of the hero decks runs out of cards you don't "not lose" because your heroes aren't at 0HP, just like Baron Blade's 15 cards in the trash doesn't need your heroes incapped either.
All of the conditions list when they get checked. If you ever meet any of the conditions at the time it is checked you win or lose. If you bring Wager Master to 0 HP and he doesn't have Who Are You Fighting? Out then you would win.
ok then heres a good question. What if you have two conditions out and one says you win and one says you lose and you meet both those conditions. Then What?
That's *checks sheet* not possible.
Let's see:
An Unwise Wager: Hero has no cards in their deck
Losing to the Odds: End of villain turn
Not All he Seems: No cards in villain deck
Playing Dice with the Cosmos: End of villain turn
New Deal: End of villain turn
Wagelings: Start of villain turn
Who Are You Fighting?: When Wager Master is reduced to 0
So, apart from 3 they all occur in the start ofr end of the villain turn, and so will occur in the standard order of events in the start and end of the villain turn, i.e. in order of play. Once passed, you stop testing, as you do with Voss's alternate victory condition.
Of the others, is there any way to achieve multiple conditiosn at once? I can't see it. As soon as a hero or Wager Master runs out of cards either An Unwise Wager or Not All He Seems would trigger and as you can't remove cards from both decks at the same time, one would take precedence. Similarly with Who Are You Fighting? Unless you could somehow remove cards at exactly the same time as knocking Wager Master to 0, wouldn't work.
So, to answer the question, nothing because it's impossible to do?
In an instance where one card would cause two conditions to trigger, let's say Uppercut from KNYFE, you drop WM to 0hp, and discard the last card in his deck.
That would trigger multiple conditions, but the first line of the card happens first, and once Wager Master is at 0hp you resolve that condition and the discard will never happen.
If somehow a card had effects that trigger simultaneously and would trigger multiple conditions, you would still choose the order for the simultaneous effects, so you would essentially choose who won.
This can happen in other games as well, if all targets are under 7hp and the Volcano goes off, you choose the order damage is dealt, so if you choose to deal damage to villains first you win, if you choose to deal damage to heroes first you lose.
I would say that "lose the game" trumps "win the game", on the basis of the fact that Who are we Fighting trumps the default win condition.
cannot trumps can, so you can trump the natural win condition by changing it, also cards trump he rule book.
When things are simultaneous they go by player choice in timing, and once a win or loss condition is triggered the game ends. There can never be simultaneous resolving win-loss triggers, and only one win or loss trigger will resolve in any game.
A loss would only trump a win if heroes chose it, or text on a card prevented that win condition.
The rules say that effects on cards override the normal rules, so cards that make a normal win or lose condition into the opposite apply regardless of what the rules say.
Most of the time, cannot does trump can, such as cards that give you extra draws being prevented by effects that prevent drawing. Exceptions are specifically called out on a few cards though, such as Ammo Drop.
