Feels awkward, having read the official announcement of arenson9 and Rabit becoming new forum moderators, which includes a call to welcome them, but since you can’t reply to posts in the Announcements thread, we can’t actually welcome them there. And there it is again in the News, a call to welcome, but we can’t reply to that so the new moderators remain tragically unwelcomed. And they’re digging right in, reorganizing the forum and presumably moderating the heck out of the forums as we speak, yet they remain unwelcomed!
I can’t take it anymore. Welcome, arenson9 and Rabit. I’m sure you guys will be awesome forum moderators.
How can we welcome them when they’ve already been here for almost a year? I’ve only been here for two months. Welcoming them seems a little presumptuous.
I’d like to congratulate them, but I’ve been a moderator and I’m not sure that’s appropriate either.
At any rate, thanks for agreeing to an otherwise thankless job, guys.
Heh, yeah, me too. :o I think it will help the game, the company, and the community, though, so I’m willing to do the job again. (This is a much smaller community, right now, but it’d be nice to see it grow!)
Glad you like it! Can’t say we were “behind” it, but we were involved in a conversation.
They contributed heavily to the discussion regarding the forum reorganization. Christopher, Adam and I think that it is now set up in a much better way to suit Greater Than Games going forward.
Thanks, guys. Our aim is to support the community, including helping everyone enjoy using the forum.
I did suggest having an Events section (and credit to the person (kirioni) who suggested that to me), but the reorg is, as I see it, a nod to the fact that >G is about more than just one game! Much for all of us to look forward to.
ALSO, let’s take a moment to enjoy the fact that the main reason there are now moderators is that >G has so much going on that they don’t have the time to moderate themselves anymore. That’s a GOOD thing.
I think arenson9 and rabit are very wise choices for moderators.
Thanks for all the energy and effort I know you’ll be putting in taming us unruly louts.
