What is the Void?

LA Capitan (and by extension La Comadora) is frustrating for me in terms of timeline.

She snuck onto the ship disguised as a boy. To pull that off she would have been… what 10 to 14 years old?

She was effected by the "Void" she fell in, it was in the ocean so maybe an early form of "The Void"? Or but art for the event is on Time Cataclysm, so maybe it is the beginning of the Singularity OblivAeon is creating.

This leads us to "Curse of the Black Spot", the Time Energies effected her, perhaps taking a massive toll on her body perhaps the curse is something else entirely. To cure herself she has a hi-tech compass which seems reminiscent of the compass from Pirates of the Carribean (which pointed to the persons greatest desire). It looks like she's at least 18 but probably older, so it is safe to say this takes place ten years after she gets the ship.

My best guess is that she went to the Nexus of the Void to find a cure for the Black Spot.

After curing herself, or being cured by one of the heroes, we get her in her early piracy career. Perhaps Chiquito is from the Nexus, being the only companion she's had in many years alone. He could have even grabbed a piece of Omnitron-U during the conflict with OblivAeon or the Aeon Men. Correction: Looks like Chiquito appeared in the Final Wasteland on her first trip. This early Captain is defeated and given by Chrono-Ranger to the Elder LA Comodora.

She somehow escapes from her older self, gathers her crew, and becomes the Captain we all know from Shattered Timelines.

After many years and many defeats she abadons her crew, eventually runs into Chrono-Ranger and hires him to go and grab her younger self. Then after securing her younger self she goes and helps fight OblivAeon and save all of time and space.

Alternatively, Black Spot could take place after She is captured and given to the older captain. La Commadora transfers the terrible Black Spot to her younger self, who goes hero while trying to get a cure, then in retalation for how she was treated by herself gathers her crew and becomes the captain we know and despise.

As the "Black Spot" is a Commodora variant, I would rather think that the "curse" of the black spot happened AFTER her piracy carreer with her crew - it's the beginning of the Commodora, and the end of La Capitan. Time travelling finally affected her, and she had to go on a quest to find a "cure", quest that changed her.

Edit : the update's text seems to confirm she was La Capitan we know before gaining the black spot :

"To Maria Helena Teresa Fafila Servanda Jimena Mansuara Paterna Domenga Gelvira Placia Sendina Belita Eufemia Columba Gontina Aldonza Mafalda Cristina Tegrida de Falcon’s reckoning, it has been a long time since she first started sailing the timelines. The passage of time is strange on those seas, though. However, time has come for the villain known as La Capitán.She could not be within time but not part of time for long. Can La Comodora survive her own origin story?"

Hopefully we will get more information once we get some flavor text as to what this black spot was.   I imagine it's tied to OblivAeon to some degree.

Hmm, I thought "her origin" refered to the origin of th captain, her first adventure. But if this is what gave her insight and wisdom and allowed her to move away from villainy and into heroism… I could see it.

Still have the issue of the Capitan escaping from the Comodora to continue her villainy for quite a few years. Why ask for her capture only to let her escape?

I wonder that as well. To me the promo La Comadora looks to be in between Villians La Capitan and Regular La Capitan.

Reading the description of Chrono Ranger's promo it says "The folks on the ship fixed up his arm and his badge, and the captain of the ship just asked for one simple thing in return: fix the mistakes of her youth. Apparently, she'd made a mess of things when she first got that ship"

So what if the "mess" is not piracy in itself, but getting the Black Spot, she wants Chrono Ranger to stop her younger self from doing whatever she did to get the Black Spot, so Villains La Capitan is pre Black Spot, once Villains La Capitan gets the Black Spot (or avoids it) La Comodora is not so worried about further pirate shenanagins and lets Regular la Capitan continue on. Probably still focusing on a way to stop her past self from ever getting the Black Spot. (though it may be a fixed point and she can't stop it)

I always took La Capitan as Paradox immune, She is the only Maria Helena in all time lines when ever she fell though time or what not. But then I saw ¿Donde? ¡Aqui! and I made me question that though. Is that her bringing her self or a multiverse double with her. I like the only one Maira in all timelines story i keep telling my self.

What is Maria base power, just some vauge time/space travel ability. She been to many timelines and times, see ¿Quando? ¡Ahora!(Love that art Btw),why do we only get 1  Maria. while I beilve that all the Maria we have is the same person in the same timeline, it be cool if the best card in La Comondora deck is Her sending a Fleet of Marias to atttack. I mean La Comondora the  Commodore, a higher rank and means she is in control of more ships. hmmm well back to the void

Old Maria is in a time lock suit, what ever that means. How old is she? Does her powers give her extended life span? I do Belive that black spot if the void, It follows the same color and pattern as Aksh'T. We are going to get alot of info on the Void coming up, so excited.

Side note, What is a Fixed point, how important is it, and why is the dreamer picuted as it? What does the Venessas have to do with it all.

The dreamer has a crytal like the void gaurdians. Is that where she draws her powers. That will make Visionary powers totaly different that The dreamer power. What beign leave a power gem in a teddy bear to cause massive amout of disruption and damage. If only we had a misspelled Villian to blame it on.

Heh.  That's totally the Capitan canon my group uses, too.

Nope. The latest livestream confirmed that Black Spot Comodora comes after both Las Capitan.

I saw that in the live stream doc. If the questions were specifically asked because of my theory then at least they led to some additional info. Even if it proved it wrong.

Because the promo Comodora is younger than the base Comodora, that means the base Comodora presumably still has the black spot. So she wears the timelock suit to inhibit the black spot from doing whatever a black spot would normally do to a person, yes?

When asked about more info on the void environment in the stream, Christopher said: "It's an island inhabited by planar beings who harness terrible power."

And in the kickstarter update it says:The Nexus of the Void features every biome known to humankind, as well as many unknown. Dangerous elemental creatures roam the island, attacking anyone they encounter without hesitation.

Maybe I'm off, but it feel like a nod to Spirit Island.

Christopher said that Black Spot Comodora is the origin story of the Comodora. We don't know much aubout that, but that she is affected by the black spot and tries to find a "cure" of some sort by going to the Void Island. What happens there is still a mistery. The Comodora suit could be a way to contain the Spot, or could be a special technology to keep time travelling after OblivAeon's defeat. Or both, or neither.

I hope we will learn more about what happens to her in the Nexus when we'll have the cards in hand…

she seems to wear the time locked suit to prevent happening to her what we see happening the Scholar on his promo incap art. He is fading away. It makes me wonder if he has a similar hole on his body that his clothes cover. Scholars constant use of oblivion shard powers has connected him deeply and in dept to the void in a similar way.

If he had a spot, wouldn't we have seen it on his incap side where his shirt is ripped?

Depends on where it is

What if Chrono-Ranger gives La Capitan the Black Spot? She goes to the Void island and there becomes La Comodora.

Not likely as Chrono-Ranger was sent after a much younger version of La Capitan and the standalone La Capitan who is older is fought before we encounter a younger La Capitan.

There's also an extremely mediocre Doctor Who episode in season 6 called "The Curse of the Black Spot" which I immediately thought of, I doubt that La commadora was influenced at all by that, but they are both about time travelling and pirates, so…

There was an amazing Dr. Who story about Pirates, but that was season 16.

The Season 6 episode was called The Space Pirates, and while not as good as the one 10 years later, it did have Jamie and Zoe, which makes it worth watching.  However I can't remember anything about a Black spot involved in it.

I should clarify; this is the new Doctor Who, it was season 6 episode 3.
