Which expansion to get next?

Evening fellow sentinels,

I just unpackaged and shuffled the shiny new Rook City cards into the enhanced set box. However, yesterday I was in a few rounds of awesome games with the fellows on the Google+ site, and the randomiser kept bringing up decks I have no access to (especially promos like Ambuscade and Unity). Those I can't really do anything about until the next paycheck, but I did get a brief taste of some of the other expansion pack decks and they all look really interesting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Infernal Relics heroes feel very much like support casters for other heroes, while the Shattered Timelines heroes are far more straightforward in damage dealing (Omnitron, I'm looking at YOU). Ideally, I'd just get both right out the gate, but that's not really so much an option for me; I can only get one or the other. Does anyone have any suggestions on which to gun for first?

(It's worse when you also factor in the villains, because as villains Gloomweaver and the Ennead were really, really fun to fight and take down. Arrgh!)

Between the two I'd have to say Shattered Timelines. For the sake of hooking new people, Chrono Ranger, Omnitron X, La Capitan are awesome, and the spread of difficulty in the villains is nice.

If you are still undecided just go with whichever theme appeals to you most.

Would say both expansions are fun.

Infernal Relics has my favorite heroes, and environment (Realm of Discord), but Shattered Timelines has my favorite villains. Plus, Chrono is in my top 5 heroes, and the Time Cataclysm is a fun environment too.

Really, it depends on what you're looking for. There are already some good damage dealers (Expat, Ra, etc.) so IR would be good for the support heroes, but both expansions are worth getting.

I have Rook City and Infernal Relics, but believe me when I say I really wish I had Shattered Timelines instead. It seems like such a good expansion, and of course, the forums are abuzz about it. if you wanna stay in the loop, I recommend getting ST :)

I think Shattered Timelines is the best expansion to date. You have two interesting heroes, villains with a variety of difficulties, and some good environments.

Infernal relics is more of a mixed bag. The heroes are excellent, but I find the Villains to be very weak (as in easy), and the environments are ok.

If I were to give grades, ST gets an A, and IR gets a B.

If you enjoy play complexity - which I do - IR is a great expansion.  The Enead is my favorite villain deck to date.  ST is just all cylinders, though. If you enjoy play complexity - which I do - IR is a great expansion.  The Enead is my favorite villain deck to date.  Argent Adept and Nightmist are cool heroes that stretch the boundaries of how hero decks work.

If Absolute Zero is your favorite EE hero, IR might be your next purchase.

That said, I would recommend picking up ST first - if for no other reason, to enjoy the current buzz in the forums. I find the heroes uniformly good, the villains compelling, and the environments really fun. ChronoRanger & OmniX are just solid heroes who are going to contribute, probably not dominate, and rarely be totally sidelined.

Oh yeah! I think its worth noting that IR has some easy-but-not-boring villains, aka Akashbhuta and Gloomweaver. I normally use them to give my teammates a boost after, say, a bad, bad, baaaad loss to the Matriarch.

Thanks for the feedback all! :) I decided to just order Shattered Timelines; Chrono and Omnitron sound like straightforward heroes to also introduce the game to people with.
