We will be getting a nice big box for Rook CIty & Infernal Relics.
But there's only a small box for shattered timelines. Does anyone think that there could be something a new epansion so we have a nicve bg box for SD and XX? I mean, consistency is key? No?
The >G have said that there will be one more standard expansion (2 hero 2 enviro 4 villain) and the "final battle" expansion (my term, not official), with a sprinkling of an undisclosed number of mini expansions (single deck addons like Unity, Scholar, ect.) of which at least 1 is confirmed to be in the pipeline. After that, the content for the SotM card game will be finished
So to answer your original question, it may not be a stretch to think that, at some point in the future, Shattered Timelines and the last standard Xpac will find their way into a shared box. But that really hinges on a number of variables, like printing, demand, time, ect. That wouldnt be happening any time soon thats for sure.
Thanks for this. That's really cool to know that, despite my sadness the multiverse is ending, that it's ending. I like clsoed ending stories. You know?
Sentinels Tactics will be >G third game launch (after Galactic Strike Force) and will return to our favorite super heros for a new comic arch (The SotM card game is itself a single contained story arch). Tactics will be a miniatures board game and looks to be incredibly exciting.
The problem with a ST/XX box is that even if XX is announced tomorrow and ships like a month after Vengeance, and then they delay the combo box until a month after "FB", that still makes the XX reprint pathetically recent compared to the Rook City reprint. I'm not at all sure this is realistic.
(As an aside, I have coined the term "pantoverse" to describe a multiverse of multiverses. And, if necessary, a multiverse of pantoverses could be a "panopliverse".)
Oh I agree. I'm not expecting anything released, or even announce duntil late next year, i was just doing some very very VERY early mass guessing. You know, for funzies!
You're right, that's unrealistic with the dates you've suggested. That's called a strawman argument. You can't just create those dates out of thin air with absolutely no evidence to make your argument work.
Let's look at >G's past history, shall we? Rook city dropped March 2012, Infernal Relics dropped September 2012, and the combo expansion is shipping in a few days (December 2013). We know that there are likely two more expansions, one regular expansion and one big box expansion. We also know that >G wants to standardize the box size of their games for easier wharehouse storage.
I think >G will do one of two things. Release the expansion after Vengence (most likely in September or October if the release pattern holds) in a big box that will fit Shattered Timelines in it as well and let new players order ST unboxed like they are doing for RC and IR. Or, more likely, release that expansion in the original expansion size box. Then in a year or so from that realease, reprint ST/new expansion in a combo similar to the RC/IR box.
The first guess fits with what >G has said about their wharehouse storage desires, the second follows thier current pattern.
I doubt they would want to make 2 boxes for one expansion again. That makes a lot less sense. If they do release a new expansion in a small box I doubt they will do another combined box version.
It is more likely they will go straight to the big combined box. Rook City and Infernal Relics were in need of reprinting, and they went with the big box method, I assume they will stick to it.
