Wraith's Combat Stance and Stealth

Quick clarification needed here:

When Wraith has her Combat Stance in play and uses her Stealth power...

If someone hits her for two or less points of damage (being reduced to 0 by her Stealth power), does she still get to trigger Combat Stance and deal 2 melee damage to that target?

Combat Stance (or anything else that triggers off of damage) will only activate if the hitpoint value actually changed.  If an attack can't get through the damage reduction or is redirected away to another target, damage wasn't actually dealt to Wraith.

EDIT: Accursed ninja!

No. If a card says "When X takes damage…" they have to actually take the damage. This would also apply to Ra taking fire damage with Flesh of the Sun God out, for example. If no hit points are lost, the effects aren't triggered.

Incidentally, you're aware that Stealth can stack, right? You can use it over several turns and all those +2s add up…so say you use it for three turns in a row without getting hit, you now have a +6 reduction. But if you get hit by anything, even if it's for a single point of damage, all the Stealth goes away, even the points that aren't blocked. And if the damage was irreducible, you lose both the hp and the Stealth. So even worse if you're Infected and have some Stealth up while Combat Stance is out (not sure why you'd do this…unless it was your first time fighting Rat, I suppose ;)), because then you hit yourself for Infection damage, removing your Stealth, and then have to punch yourself in the face with your own Combat Stance. For three points of damage, if the Locus is still out!

A feverish Wraith is her own worst enemy.  But I think Nightmist has it worse....

Thank you everyone! This forum is great!

Agreed.  Perhaps not in a technical sense, but the people, definitely.  SOTM has a nigh-magical quality of bringing out the best in folks.
