Your RL Lame super power?

Since someone mentioned in the hippo hiccup split their lame super power is the ability to destroy hiccups, i was curious - and bored - and this is a Super Hero Kinda place

What's your Real Life Lame Super Power?

Mine is the ability to forget 90% of what I've read after 3 months or so, meaning I can go back to old books and they are almost like new!

Sucks for tests though.

I can lick my own elbow.

Actually, I have a lot of lame superpowers, but this has to be the most useless of the lot.

Mine is the aforementioned hiccough-stopping. Also the ability to shake exactly two Tylenol from the bottle.

I can cook awesome food, as long as it is breakfast food.

I know exactly what song is coming up next in the radio... about a half-second before it starts... and it only works 50% of the time.

I have the incredible abilty to be completely self absorbed!

I have the incredible power to remember useless trivia.  I can't remember what I ate yesterday or what I need for an exam or at work, but I can tell you the name, casting cost, power/toughness, and effects of like 100+ MtG cards (I haven't played in over a decade).  I'm full of stuff like that.  Quotes from movies no one has seen; stats from games I don't play anymore.

This.  I can go entire conversations from Space Ghost, Lost Skeleton, Gleaming the Cube (thanks to my sister's Christian Slater obsession that one summer), and any Ed Wood film.

No one but me knows I've been doing it.  It's fun.

Um...I actually do know martial arts in real life, if we're counting that as super powers. Also the ability to be well meaning and awkward and to run off of five to four hours of sleep every day.

I have an uncanny ability to stop fights before they break out.  That or I'm just in the right place at the right time a whole lot.  But I'm not even close to kidding when I say that I'm personally responsibility for calming down at least 9 different situations that would have resulted in a fist fight.  A few examples:

Last year, some friends and I were out at the bars for a Halloween celebration.  We were heading to the next bar and walked past a club where two guys were at each other's throats, cussing and pointing fingers while an audience of smokers enjoyed the free show.  I guess the acclaimed girlfriend of one of them danced up on the other one and now these dudes were about to tear into each other (sadly enough, it looked like the girlfriend was loving the attention and trying to fan the flames).  I ran up to them, yelling "Hey! Be cool, be cool!  There's a cop car right in that lot!" and pointed to the partially covered lot across the street. They both backed up a bit and quieted their voices, still arguing, but now in a manner of talking and less screaming.  The girl, now bored, says "Let's just go, Guy's Name," and they turn around and walk off.  The dude still standing there tells us the rest of the story, how the girl danced with him, he had no idea she had a boyfriend, all of a sudden the boyfriend is in his face, threatening him etc. and I admitted that there was never a cop car.  We just shook our heads and laughed and went our separate ways.

A few weeks ago, I was on the bus heading home from work, just reading my book.  A group of drunk, obnoxious teenagers hop on the bus, obviously looking to cause trouble out of pure boredom.  They're blasting music through speakers, yelling and laughing, nearly running around, jumping over seats while the other passengers rolled their eyes and did the best to ignore them.  A man walked up to them and asked them politely to knock it off, to which one of them responded "Yes, Officer!" The man did not like that and screamed in the kids face.  "WHAT THE ___ DID YOU SAY TO ME?!" and from there the teen started to talk smack, boasting how he'd beat him up and such saying "Hey, I'm getting off on 26th; get off on my stop and we'll make something of it."  The man sat back down, the kids continued to laugh and mock him.  Finally, the bus stops on 26th.  The kids get off and the man, fists clenched and breathing heavy, makes a split second decision to stand up and head for the door.  As he's walking past me, I stick my arm out and say "They're just kids; it's not worth it."  He still looked absolutely pissed and didn't say a word to me, but still, he stopped, turned back around and sat down.

I don't know, it's crazy.  I have so many more of these stories.  Maybe I just put myself in rough areas where these things are prone to happen?  I guess if it can be considered a super power, it is a pretty cool one.  Being able stop a situation from escalating is exactly what a hero would do, right?  Well, that's what I tell myself :)

I arguably have super dreaming powers, but those aren't at all lame.  I also have a very peculiar ability which is too X-rated to discuss here.

Hello me, it's me again!

Not sure what you're going for, but for me that's a quote from Sweating Bullets by Megadeth, which actually reminds me of another lame superpower I have.  I have an incredible ability to attribute quotes to a secondary source.  For instance, for many years I believed the phrase "hindsight is always 20/20" came from that same song, like they invented it.

Yes indeed.  (And looking back is still a bit fuzzy.)  I used the quote of a way of saying I was much the same, in the regard you were speaking of.

I can (usually) find people I'm looking for by thinking that I want to find them, then stopping paying attention where I'm going.  They're usually in the next room I randomly wander into.

I can sometimes tell things before they happen.  This has spooked out some of my friends.  When I was a kid, I'd say "Wouldn't it be cool if..." just before mentioning what would happen, and then it would.  I've been able to predict songs on the radio, dice rolls, and pieces/cards people would play this way.

I have dreams about my next day.  Usually detailing little issues, and sometimes blowing things out of proportion.  One time I dreamt of a giant trough filled with white powder with a fly in it.  The next day, I found a fly in an open box of baking soda in the bathroom.

Sometimes I have dreams about what is going to happen months or years in advance.  Those dreams I can usually remember very well for a long time.

I have a very good memory for cards and for Star Wars.

I can also ask for it to rain or stop raining (on an appropriately weathered day, i.e. cloudy and raining/not-raining) and it will do so.

But I don't know how to stop hiccoughs!

My power is having a bunch of really weak, crappy powers. Including, but not limited to, memorizing things with startling speed -- but underwhelming precision -- destroying hiccups, making references that no one else gets, and having the most obscure and ecclectic ipod soundtrack in existence.

My superpower only works in a choir environment - it's the ability to sing loudly and confidently enough that the rest of the alto section think I'm right and follow me, whether I'm actually right or not.

Oh, forgot to mention, I get constant deja vu, which makes me think I have precognitive powers but only access their predictions with a split-second warning.  I also have periodically suspected that I have the questionable gift of "anti-prophecy"...that anything I anticipate WON'T come true (but this doesn't work for making wishes in reverse or anything like that).

I really want this power!  My clearest dream from my childhood involved being attacked by a bear and rescued by a dragon.

I have the uncanny ability to tell exactly when the microwave is about to go off.  No other timers, mind you, just the microwave.

Dude, I think I might be your evil twin:

  • I don't go "Wouldn't it be cool if..." - I go "Wouldn't it suck if..." or "As long as this doesn't happen...", and then it does. Unfortunately, I don't do this often enough to figure out that I should stop saying things like that...
  • I have admittedly only had one (1) prophetic dream. But I don't dream, as a rule, so it's not one out of a thousand dreams so much as one out of maybe a dozen?
  • I have a good memory for cards, and for Doctor Who. Never seen Star Wars :P
  • I can't do the rain thing, so presumably I have an equally cool alternate power... I'll get back to you on that one.
