Has there been a mention of a new large box for storing future supplements? As sleeved my enhanced box is already cramped (insanely much) and unsleeved it is quite full still.
I found it odd that they didn't foresee more space in it.
Vengeance will be an expansion that will be the same size as the base set. Or maybe about the same size, i'm not entirely sure if they said it would be differenct, but none the less it will be able to store even more cards in it. I'm sure they have a few expansions planned down the line that will release every so often to insure you won't have to carry around a lot of small boxes. In total I am guess we'll have a total of three Enhanced Edition boxes. Enhanced Editon being one, Vengeance, and then another that will come out 2 or 3 expansions after Vengeance.
Glad to hear it. Been sleeving all evening... and they really pile up in that box...
The fact timelines comes out before Vengeance doesn't help either :p
I have all existing SoTM cards and they fit perfectly well in the EE box. Fitting the rulebook and the tokens is another matter entirely, but I guess you cannot fit the rulebook and dividers without slightly forcing the box
But is that with or without sleeves?
With Mayday sleeves that fit 63.5 X 88, all sets, promos, and expansions up to Shattered Timelines fit the Enhanced Edition box (with little to no space left for anything else). All three rulebooks fit on top, but I keep my oversized Villain cards in toploaders and the tokens in a Crown Royal bag that are both stored in a messenger bag along with the EE box. Everything will fit, but tokens are another matter. I'm sure you could fit the oversized Villain cards if they weren't sleeved.
On that note, I am now very satisfied with the EE box after getting properly sized sleeves. It is everything >G promised it would be.
Good to hear since I plan on sleeving mine in Mayday sleeves.
Completelt reorganized my box atm. I put my villains and areas together with the large cards and the rulebooks in the 2 expansion boxes. While in enhanced edition i put my tokens and heroes.
So it looks like my current storage solution isn’t going to work as well as I’d hoped. It’s very expandable, but my briefcase isn’t going to have room for much longer; I definitely have enough room for Vengeance but not the next set.
Guess I'll have to look for a bigger case…
What a beautiful set up! It'd be a shame to see it go after Vengeance rears its ugly (beautiful, gorgeous) head.
Ok I have to ask Rabit - what exactly are the sleeves you are using for the oversized cards? Are they recipe sleeves? If not where can someone order a set? Also what are the clear case boxes you are using for the heroes? Overall it is an impressive storage solution.
Thanks!
The over-sized card sleeves I bought were suggested to me on another thread here on the site, so I can’t claim credit for that one.
The boxes are what I used to have my Magic decks in before I tore them up to get rid of them - once I realized I wasn’t going to play them anymore since SotM was is much fun. I don’t recall who made them and the manufacturer vanished without a trace years go so I can’t replace them (although I’m planning to look for some at Cons this year). It’s a two-piece box, with lids that “snap” into place over the opening. The lids on these boxes create a nearly-air-tight seal. It’s hard to describe them, so I’ll just provide a pic, instead. Seriously, though, any deck box would give you the same option. (And I created the labels in Word using an Avery label template - nothing exceptional, there.)
This also allows me to easily pick-and-choose what I take with me to an activity, too, which I really like.
I'm probably just going to get a second bag to help the post-Vengeance cards - or the more infrequently-played decks, so I only bring the decks I might actually use.
i just put that link in the "New to the Forums' sticky - cause those are cool!
I just completed a storage solution of my own. The Hobby Lobby box suggested by jagarciao in this thread is quite roomy. The internal dimensions are 15 5/8 in x 12 in x 2.5 in (approximately) for the bottom half, and 15 5/8 in x 12 in x 1.5 in (approximately) for the top half. Link to Hobby Lobby box:

You have to unscrew the easel tray inside (standard philips screwdriver will work) and take out the organizer within. I recommend keeping the screws for the next part.
Rolodex has a desktop organizer tray (The Rolodex 22131 Deep Desk Drawer Organizer) that fits within the dimensions of the artist case. It is made of metal mesh, and has 3 rows with an internal width of 3.75in each, perfect for Spiff's sleeved boxes. Here's an amazon.com link to it:
You can use the two screws from the easel tray and screw them through the wire mesh and anchor the tray to the sides of the box. The screws fit pretty easily between the mesh wire, and will drill quite nicely into the wood on the bottom half of the box. If you don't want to use screws, you can probably just use double sided tape or glue.
This still leaves some "headroom" on the top half of the Hobby Lobby box, which may or may not be desired. You can tape a mesh bag to the top half to store instruction manuals and incidentals (like the oversized villain cards), or just put some padding up there. I put a couple of sink/bath corner splash guards (which had peel and stick adhesive, so they were easy to mount) and just mounted a piece of wood paneling there (truth be told, I'm currently using the easel from the Hobby Lobby box at the moment). If you are using Spiff's card boxes, you won't need to worry about cards getting loose, however. Even without the card boxes, the cards don't seem to scatter inside the case and tray, even with significant jostling and bumping.
The entire process took less than 30 minutes, with all the materials available.
I'm using Mayday 63.5mm x 85mm sleeves, which have the perfect vertical height for the cards with no plastic extending above the edge of the card. Not all of my cards are sleeved, currently… just the most beat-up ones (Argent Adept is the character I use the most, and his cards are pretty beat-up). I'm also still in the process of creating all of Spiff's sleeved boxes for all of my decks (they take a bit of time to construct).
EDIT: Pics of the box (and one of my cats!)
I've shared this a few times, but this is what I use:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151399840937533&set=a.10151399840837533.532695.772837532&type=3&theater
It took a small amount of custom work, but it wasn't too difficult, and it will hold all of the Sentinels cards, ever.
Since everyone's sharing, I added a bit to my site to describe how I store the game and all the accessories I use. I also included a link back to this forum topic for people who wanted to see what other people are doing too.
Would anyone know how many sleeves you need to sleeve everything (EE, all expansions, all promos)? I'm guessing it's around 1400 sleeves or so?
There have been 1,430 cards released:
Enhanced Edition 578
Young Legacy 1
Rook City 222
Rook City Wraith 1
Infernal Relics 228
Unity 41
Ambuscade 27
Infernal Relics promos 6
Shattered Timelines 220
Scholar 41
Miss Information 27
Final Wasteland 15
Silver Gulch 15
Shattered Timelines promos 8
That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks! I'll probably give sleeving a go with KMC Perfects, since Fantasy Flight blues are just... they're too tall for the cards.
Would be nice if >G was willing to sell empty EE boxes for replacement/sleeving purposes. =D
I've got a partial solution that works pretty well. I used Spiff's tuckboxes (thanks Spiff!) and an old case with dividers that I picked up at some hardware store many years ago. It needed a little love in the form of extra dividers, a false top with some foam to eliminate the head space and keep things from bouncing around too much, and a velcro folder to keep instructions, reference sheets, etc. I've been using it for a week now and it works pretty well. And it's got plenty of extra room for future expansions.
Upcoming projects include:
- Creating/finding better storage for the hp/status tokens
- Reorganizing heroes and villains by complexity/difficulty and creating little dividers to indicate each group (or I might just add the numbers to the tuckboxes)
- Does anyone else have good improvements that they've made for their own storage?
