Accidental Second topic about Villains/Broken City/For Profit Preorder

That's one of the nice things I like about this: If folks don't feel like this set will see play, they don't have to buy it. And if there aren't enough pre-orders, it won't happen. This is great for >G, and avoids them wasting money on things that won't sell.

I'm hoping this set will get the folks I play with to get more into the Vengeance format. We have time to play it when we get together (as it does take a little longer to play), but it just hasn't caught on. (I should probably ask everyone why they don't want to play it. Really hoping it's the villain choices…)

Your spell fizzles. You summon a demon instead.

Rabit, I agree whole heartedly.

I have blown up the box pictures above using state of the art computer technology. It is pixilated, but I have exciting news...

CONFIRMED! The villain formaly known as The Matriarch is part of the Dark Watch! If there is one clear thing I made out in the picture, it was a bird resting on that heros shoulders! Nightmist is gone folks. I knew it from the moment we saw the Miststorm in Tactics that she has yet to reform into her old self following the events that will end SotM.

La Capitain confirmed on the VotM box as well!

Adam posted a larger version of the VotM art on his twitter!

Maybe Hippocalypse has finally revealed his true form.

My group would definitely play more Vengeance-style games with more options to choose from, so I'm looking forward to it.

I don't understand how the Tactics-type thing is being marketed.  It's a stand-alone game based on Tactics... doesn't that just make it an expansion for Tactics that doesn't require the base game?  Or maybe it's actually a new game...?  Can't tell.

Also, utilizing highly advanced squinting technology, is that Heartbreaker and Madame Mirror (or whatever we're calling her?) on the For Profit box? Super excited to see more about those two.

So I reached the correct number, at the very least?

I think they're shipping a 'core' range of standalone games with the tile sets and a larger number of characters and scenarios. And then expansions have other characters and scenarios.

The art looks better and better! Super excited, although also a bit sad that it is not spread out a bit more and that it is so soon after WotC (Europe hasn't even received it yet)... Will probably have to choose one and let the others slide.... snif.

Furthermore, I am confused about this paragraph in the announcement:

"The preorder will run until March 12th, 2015. The games will all be in your hands by the end of 2015, though they will be produced in separate waves. This lets you save shipping by combining large orders or get the games right when they come out by placing multiple orders."

Does this mean that all three games will be shipped out to the pre-order participants by the end of 2015 and that GtG releases it to the stores with some months in between? And if the pre-order for this stuff runs now, why would one place three separate orders and wait?

Plauge Rat and LaCapitain seem like odd choices to include in this format. I would have bet the farm that they would have been used as promo villains for their existing decks. How much different could they be? Ambuscade fits at least because we know he has the slaughterhouse 6 behind him.

Other villains I notice: the sabertooth guys from Visionarys deck and beacons from tactics.

Anvil/Hammer will be interesting to have a closer look at

FILTER focused deck might answer questions.

where have I seem the red/black character with the sword before?

we see the blue Deamon that parse fights in captain cosbys deck. I think he will be part of The Host.

The woman in the blue dress somehow reminds me of Amenia Twain...

Or AbZeros long thought dead Fiance! Probably not though

The woman with the sword looks like Friction, mixed with Heartbreaker. So that's interesting...

Also, a little (and I do mean a LITTLE) disappointing that there are no new heroes in there. That means we'll have to wait for the NEXT expansion for hero-Matriarch (not counting Tactics, of course)...

Still, I wasn't expecting 10 villains. I guess people don't get to complain about the lack of variety for Vengeance-style villains, anymore.

I'm pretty sure thats the operative.

Box size for VotM?

From the picture it looks like a Vengeance-sized box.Probably complete with slot for oversized villain cards.

That would be perfect. (Yes, I've printed Cauldron stuff…!)

That could fit. Too bad we can't see the other arm in the picture. Thats the one Operative has her original tattoo on. But that is a strong guess.

I noticed something else in the picture. La Capitain has a green creature with glowing eyes on her shoulder. I can't tell if its a monkey or an Imp Pilferer from Apostates deck. Anyone wanna take a close look at that for me?

Not sure it's the imp... I don't recognize it from anywhere. Maybe just a new monkey critter?
